16-year-old a good candidate for rhinoplasty?

By 4464anon on 20 Apr 2010

I am sixteen and a half years old. I am 6"1 which is two inches taller than my father and recently had x-rays performed on my fingers (which I've been told are a good indicator for future growth) and was told that they would be fully developed between December 2010 and March 2011. I happen to be spending this coming year in India where plastic surgery is inexpensive and good quality and aim to undergo rhinoplasty surgery in late December 2010. Also, how long must I refrain from martial arts post surgery for open or closed rhinoplasty?

Hi anon, How long you refrain from martial arts after your rhinoplasty depends on how good of a martial artist you are (don't get hit or you be flying back to Bollywood for your next surgery). Ask a silly question, get a silly answer. Your nasal bones will be ossified after about one month. Good luck and watch out for left crosses. Dr. P

Keep in mind that medical tourism has many downfalls. One is that the aesthetic standards of beauty in one country, may differ from another. Therefore, you may not get the type of nose you want. Another is that getting surgery close to where you live is very important for follow up appointments and in case any issues arise post-op.

Here is what one doctor has to say about this.
