I wanted to share my breast reduction journey with others. I am 11 days post-op today and doing a little better every day and so are my new twins! They were pretty battered and bruised at first but am happy to report they look better, more lifted, and weigh much less than before! I started off a 36DD and so far believe i will be a 36C when all is said and done and the swelling has finally subsided. The experience although scary was definitely worth it! I would do it again to get these results. My back, neck, and shoulder pain were the very first thing I noticed gone immediately! I highly recommend this procedure to women out there who are good candidates for it. There is no need to continue suffering from these physical ailments when there is a resolution. If there was a cure for cancer and you had it would you opt to take it even though painful or not?! It just takes some courage, strength, and support to get through it. My chest does not project like it use too and my tops actually stay at my waist rather than ride up I can also wear cute, button-down tops that I can start buttoning from the very top!! I don't even have to wear camisoles underneath anymore! I shared my post-op pics keep in mind, I just did the surgery 10 days ago and still am in the healing process but looking good considering it wasn't that long ago! Feel free to contact me with any questions! MY insurance covered my procedure and my final cost was $800.

I am super scared for my upcoming reduction but excited too. How was the recovery? Did you have any bleeding ? How was the pain?

It is so good to hear that you are happy with your results. I am a month away and have so many questions and concerns. These blogs are comforting and much appreciated.

Hello I'm 4 days post op! The pain was the worse the first day, really after surgery. Now it feels more like post pregnancy. My nipples are very sensitive and I'm so constipated. I do LOVE my new boobies so the whole ordeal was so worth it!

PS. I was a 38DDD. I'm now at a 38D. Dr. Vanik suggested that I wear a cotton cup with no wire bra and not a sports bra. He stated that while they heal they will take a rounder shape and not a flat one like most sports bras

Good advice koldfront16. Last 2 days were pretty bad for me pain wise but today I feel great!!! (Day 9 post op). I've figured out the more in get up and just try to move around, the better it is for me. Just laying around all day on the couch slows the healing process. Of course, we can't do anything too strenuous but a little movement helps. However, just taking a shower almost depletes my energy. Anyone else feel this way?

I am 6 days post op, thanks for the top on the sports bra. I am not sure what size I currently wear, but I may have to get a real bra soon.

What brand bra did you end up getting ... I am 6 days post-op and am now Marena post surgical bra and I'm concerned about it not being the right bra.

Hello ladies. I am 2days post op. I must say, it wasn't near as bad as I was expecting. I was a 38 DDD and I believe I'm about a C now. Still quite sore but not he worse pain I've ever felt. So far I am really satisfied. Question for girls though. Did your surgeons do any lipo under the arms and toward the back? Mine did and I don't hear much about that from other BR patients. That's actually where I'm he most sore.

Yes, i had lipo, read my review, see how the bruising fades from my pics

I am having lipo with my BR. I've read from others who have had it done that they were more bruised and sore from it.

Yeah and that is actually where I am the most sore but I'm so glad my doc did that. Last night and this morning (day 3 post op) has been the roughest for me so far. I'm starting to feel sensation around the nipples. Thank goodness for pain meds. Happy healing ladies.

the sooner you get off the pain meds the better you will feel

I'm working on it peediewife. I've started spacing it out more and more. I can't wait until I can run and start working out again. 7 lbs lighter will feel different I'm sure.

My surgeon did lipo too, and that's where I am the sorest. I was told it takes longer to heal, but it's well worth it. My PS says it's done for better contouring.

I did not have lopo. Post op 12 days and I'm doing great. I hope you get better and continue to recover. Pls keep me posted.

I had the lipo and you are right, that's where my real pain is from. I am 3 wks post op.

it is bruising and it fades by the day. Mine was sore under pressure for nearly 4 months, you have to be careful about seams or stiffeners in bras

Had appointment yesterday with the doc and he said everything looks great. ;) 4 weeks PO today and I feel great ladies. So for those of you 1,2 and 3 weeks out, hang in there. I promise it gets better. The worst part for me last week was the itching around the nipples but its not as bad now.

Hi, how are you doing now? I am a month away from the BR and lift, with the lipo, are the results what you expected?

I am healing well. My doctor prepared me well for what to expect after. He told me that they would be swollen and "high" because of the lift. He didn't want me to freak when I woke up and saw them. They have already fallen some and I think they will be positioned fine. They are starting to round out nicely. They were somewhat flat at first. I had a lot of underarm boob that he did a little liposuction to -- that area was very tender at first but getting much better. I iced 24/7 for the first week and then lately about once or twice a day. When touched I have sensation all over ... Even the nipple so I'm excited about that. My only post-op issue was the bra. Didn't like the one he sent me home in. Ordered a Marena post surgical bra which ended up being too tight because of the swelling. I'm waiting on an online order to come in from Clearpointmedical.com -- so we'll see. He stressed the importance of wearing a "sports bra with soft or molded cups -- not the kind that was too tight" but stopped short of specifying brand etc. Had surgery on a Thursday (9/11), got those nasty drains out on the following Monday (9/15), got the derma bond and staples removed on Friday (9/19). He has me massaging antibiotic ointment onto suture lines for three weeks. Then I go back for another post-op and he said he would give me some maderma to use for a couple of months and then that will be followed by some other special cream he sells. He said to be patient with scaring .... That's the least oft concerns. I have a very supportive husband!

My results so far are everything I hoped for and more. My self esteem has improved and it is so nice being able to run without wearing 2,sports bras. They at still a little tender, mostly where the scars are but I'm back doing everything I was before the surgery.

That is great!
