10 day post-op breast reduction and lift pics

I wanted to share my breast reduction journey with others. I am 11 days post-op today and doing a little better every day and so are my new twins! They were pretty battered and bruised at first but am happy to report they look better, more lifted, and weigh much less than before! I started off a 36DD and so far believe i will be a 36C when all is said and done and the swelling has finally subsided. The experience although scary was definitely worth it! I would do it again to get these results. My back, neck, and shoulder pain were the very first thing I noticed gone immediately! I highly recommend this procedure to women out there who are good candidates for it. There is no need to continue suffering from these physical ailments when there is a resolution. If there was a cure for cancer and you had it would you opt to take it even though painful or not?! It just takes some courage, strength, and support to get through it. My chest does not project like it use too and my tops actually stay at my waist rather than ride up I can also wear cute, button-down tops that I can start buttoning from the very top!! I don't even have to wear camisoles underneath anymore! I shared my post-op pics keep in mind, I just did the surgery 10 days ago and still am in the healing process but looking good considering it wasn't that long ago! Feel free to contact me with any questions! MY insurance covered my procedure and my final cost was $800.

i just had my reduction/lift done over here in germany and even though i was a 34DDD in US sizes apparently that's only a D in german sizes. regardless they brought me down to a full American C and a full lift - my breasts are lifted so high that they look and feel fake, but i'm not complaining and neither is the husband lol! I look and feel like a full C even though i'm only 12 days post op. my husband is active duty Army and i had to go through a process to get our insurance to cover it but when they found out i was hunching over at 130 pounds sitting at a DDD they had no problem approving it at 14,000Euro. i too was very scared to go under the knife but i have never been happier with my breasts. i still have dressings over my incisions so i'm not exactly sure what everything fully looks like right now, and they want to change them out twice a week at their office for the next 3 weeks and they can probably answer this as well but it's almost rock hard on the bottom sides of my breasts.. is that new tissue building up or should i be concerned?

my neck and back pain have also almost instantly went away. my only problem is i feel when i squat down or do something that requires balancing with my back i have lost it a few times and i think that's because i'm readjusting to all of that weight not being in the front... has anyone else had this happen lol?

OMG I was just discussing the balalnce issue with my physio today and joking that I will tip over from the lack of weight in front! You look AMAZING!! I hope my boobs look that great!

Your 10 day pics look better than my 27 day po pics...I went from a 36 H to what I hope may end up being a full C or small D once the breasts settle more. Did you ever experience the boxy shape? I'm still boxy, everyone has assured me this will change in time, but it's a little concerning when I see pics that aren't boxy.
CurlyGrl86 11 Nov 2012
Kbirdie - I had my BR on Nov 1 and I am still boxy (especially the left). My PS says she shape will end up just fine but I would prefer if mine sat up and were more rounded.
kat1961 11 Nov 2012
my surgery was 10/24/12 and i am very boxy. my fear is they will drp and be larger... sure hope not. i had 1000 cc removed from each breast. was hoping to be a c cup but looking more like a dd/ddd :-(. still very pleased but woul be thrilled if they shrink.
kbirdie 12 Nov 2012
After all my worrying about the boxy look, I'm ecstatic to say the shape is MUCH better!!!! They are rounding more, and at 6 weeks they look great braless!!!! Yay, now I really know patience is a virtue!!!!! I still wear the bra 24/7 (habit)....BR was totally worth it!!!

I'm 2weeks post-op and swollen. I'm supposed to be a small b but I'm at least a c. I'm a little discouraged. Should I be?
vivi3kids 2 Jan 2012
I'm coming up on 6 months on the 26th of January of this year. It took 4 months to feel the true healing. It feels like the swelling lasts forever but it does go away eventually u just have to be patient and not allow yourself to feel discouraged.I already posted new photos just a day ago if you follow the thread you will see them at the very bottom those are the photos of me at 5 months post -op. You just have to look very closely. I sort of like the size i ended up i can squeeze into a 36 full C but sometimes feel like i can still wear a D cup and i started off a DD so i was considered a minor reduction. You should be feeling much better in a few more weeks hang in there and congrats!

How long did it take before you felt truly healed from surgery? I know that the swelling can last forever and a day, but healed from the sore, bruised, hugely swollen part.

Any new photos? Do you like the size they ended up? I can't wait to be where you are now (I'm just 13 days out).

mys stomach is wrapped because I had abdominal liposuction of my entire abdomen, lower, top, flanks, sides. You have to wear a tight, velcro, compression garment after that type of procedure.
Debbie Orem 30 Dec 2011
Why was your stomach wrapped. I swear my stomach is so swollen.

thanks for the quick reply... much appreciated. its harder than i thought trying to get info/ pictures to be able to communicate effectively with the dr. I wish there was a standard for the information. We already know that 99% suffer from back pain... I need to know height/weight starting bra size, ending bra size and amount in weight taken out. Front as well as side photos would help too.
Goofyspice 12 Nov 2011
ah speaking of back pain... is yours better after surgery?
Iowa71 (RealFriend) 12 Nov 2011
My pain is definitely better. I've practically forgotten what that all felt like. I don't have that tight knot at the base of my neck anymore and I can move so much more easily.
I printed pictures right from this web site to take with me. I scoured through all of the pictures through the Photos tab and read every piece of information I could. I didn't have any problems printing from here. I read what seemed like hundreds of profiles, which I found very helpful. If you are interested in someone's story just click on their username or picture and it will take you to a page where you can click on their review, which will have their story and many have pictures.
So my "vital statistics" are: Ht: Just under 5'1" Wt: 140ish Started: 34H, Currently: 34D or DD. Pictures are on my profile. He took about 450gm from left and just under 500gm on right. I will try to get the exact figures for you. As I said, I am thinking that I would have liked for him to have taken more, because I really didn't want to still be a DD (many people on here start at that size!)
When are you scheduled for surgery?
Goofyspice 11 Nov 2011
I am going to have a breast reduction soon. the doctor wants to take 700-900 grams off of each breast. So I am trying to find out is how much weight wise was removed in your surgery. I am currently a very full DD. I am not looking to be a B cup and it seems like 700-900 grams is alot.
Iowa71 (RealFriend) 11 Nov 2011
Hi Goofyspice. I was a 34H and had about 450gm removed from each breast. I am three months post-op and am still about a DD. For me that is a bit disappointing because I was really wanting to be a C. I know I can still shrink a little, but am thinking I probably will not get as small as I had hoped. A friend pointed out to me that two people can both wear the same cup size but have completely different amounts of breast tissue...for example 34H boobs are smaller than someone who is perhaps a 44H. It will require different amounts of tissue to be removed to get them both down to a D-cup.
Did you give your doctor an idea of the size you wanted to go down to? I took lots of pictures to my consult. For the most part I tried to stick to women who looked similar to me before that had a shape and size that I liked after.
Good luck! I hope everything goes well. Keep us posted as to who you are doing...
vivi3kids 12 Nov 2011
wow! that is a lot of breast tissue to be removed if u are DD cup right now!! I only had 260 removed on one side and 220 on the other and that put me smack dab at a full C and sometimes depending on the bra i can still wear a 36D but that suits my frame just fine and it doesn't technically mean i am a D cup but rather certain bra brand's just run ridiculously small rather than true to size, kind of like jeans, I can wear a 6 in some brands and an 8 in others!
Iowa71 (RealFriend) 12 Nov 2011
Vivi, what size did you start at and how long did it take you to get to the size that you finished at. My doctor said up to 16 weeks to determine my final size, but I've heard that 6 months to a year for some. I'm still a bit hopeful that I still have some swelling and that I will get somewhat smalled yet...though I don't know if I will get down two full sizes yet.
vivi3kids 19 Nov 2011
I started off a 36DD before surgery and am currently 3 months post-op right now and wearing a 36C. The swelling has gone down considerably. When I first bought 36C it fit me way too snug and tight and i cried thinking oh crap I'm still a D down from a DD, but its true, as time goes on you do decrease more and more in swelling. Now my 36C bra's fit me looser and better. The hardest part is waiting to see what your true size will be.
Iowa71 (RealFriend) 30 Aug 2011
Wow! You look great! Very round and symmetrical! It is amazing how much better you feel after having this done. I'm two weeks post op and have been amazed at the difference it makes in how I look and feel!
vivi3kids 31 Aug 2011
i have an appointment today to see the PS. I get so anxious to see the real results because the swelling is still there and my true cup size still somewhat a mystery at this point. Congrats on having it done too! We sure are some brave women. We should look into gathering a group of BR patients and celebrating our huge accomplishment!

I say we celebrate with a cruise so we can all get new swimsuits!!
