Washington Thermage directory information

Washington Thermage providers are listed in the following unbiased directory. RealSelf.com does not accept paid directory placements or advertorial in the Washington doctor directory. The Washington Thermage providers in this directory are listed according to their level of participation in the community.

What is Thermage?

Thermage is FDA approved for tightening loose facial and body skin. The Thermage device received clearance from the FDA in July 2002 and has been available in selected Washington doctors' offices since then, and a subsequent appearance on Oprah launched Thermage to household name status.

How does Thermage work?

Thermage is not surgery and claims to require no downtime, meaning that patients can return to normal activities immediately following the procedure. A handpiece with a smooth, flat tip delivers radiofrequency energy, in the form of heat into the skin, causing immediate tightening of collagen. Thermage can be performed on patients of all skin color.

What does Thermage treatment feel like?

When the radiofrequency energy is applied to the skin, you'll feel an intense but brief heating sensation. To keep you comfortable and protect the surface of your skin, a cooling spray is applied before, during and after each application of energy.

Tips for finding the right Washington Thermage provider

1. Laser medicine is generally regulated by Washington state and local authorities. Check your state's guidelines for specifics.

2. If a topical anesthetic is required for treatment, discuss the circumstances under which the cream should be used, and verify whether the use is appropriate in your situation.

3. Verify that your Washington Thermage provider is licensed and trained to provide the procedure.

Do not commit to Thermage with a Washington doctor based solely upon advertising, special pricing, or the referral of another patient before fully researching the background of the physician or provider.
