Marionette Lines Are Not Gone 4 Days After Radiesse

Hi...4days after Radiesse. Cheeks still swollen and marionette lines have not gone away... is this common and will they disappear? Thx!

A: Radiesse is not ideal for use around the mouth

Radiesse is not the best filler to use around the mouth - softer fillers (such as Juvederm or Restylane) generally will produce better results.  If you have not seen the effects of your treatment, you likely just need more volume.  Results should be instant - and if anything, more pronounced in the first few days due to swelling.

How Long After Radiesse is Injected in Marionette Lines Should I Expect to See Results?

I had Radiesse injected into my marionette lines a week ago and don't see any difference. How long do I have to wait to see improvement?

A: Results with Radiesse are immediate

Results with Radiesse are immediate.  If you do not see any difference at this point, you are likely not going to see any further changes.  Furthermore, I would definitely recommend using a softer filler around the mouth area - such as Juvederm or Restylane.  These softer fillers are much more natural feeling around the mouth.  We do not recommend Radiesse for use in the lips or around the mouth.

Radiesse Was Injected into my Trough/cheek Area About Six Weeks Ago.

I was delighted with the newly restored fullness; unfortunately, the result has totally disappeared! I've been reading that Radiesse stimulates collagen over time, but why has the effect vanished? Thanks.

A: Don't confuse swelling with permanent results

The satisfactory result you were seeing might have just been the result of some temporary swelling. You might simply need additional product injected in order to get back to the volume that would help you reach your goals.  Experienced injectors quite often "stage" injections - especially for first time patients - to avoid over-treatment.  It sounds like in your case, you would be happy with a little more volume.
