I am only 27 and get a fair amount of sleep but my dark circles have become developed into slight hollowness. I have a great fear of needles going in me that I don't even have my ears pierced. Can you be put to sleep while getting or can you close your eyes while they are injecting near your eyes?
While some patients choose to undergo sedation in order to get fillers, its more typical when there is a large amount of product being used. Injecting Restylane into your tear troughs to address dark circles or hallows will likely not require much product, relatively speaking - and therefore, not many needle pricks. That being said, given your fear of needles, its important to understand that things have come a long way in terms of patient comfort and pain management with non-surgical treatments. Restylane currently comes in a formulation containing lidocaine (numbing medication) which numbs the area immediately. To calm your nerves, you might consider speaking to your doctor about prescribing Valium prior to treatment (just make sure you arrange a ride home, as you should not drive).
I had 14 units of Botox for Crows feet done 5 weeks ago & SO regret it. It knocked out my crows feet completely yet now when I smile I have large new wrinkles under my eyes. The doctor attempted a few more units after 7 days to treat the wrinkles yet it didn't help at all.
I'm so disappointed and looking for a way to smooth out the wrinkles until the botox wears off. Is Restylane a safe & advisable option? First pic after botox, 2nd pic before...my natural face.
One of very common side effect for 1st time Botox users is that they discover while Botox smooths out the lines they wanted to go away, it might create a new line or fold - just due to the fact that the muscle under the skin is responding differently following Botox treatments. I would strongly advise against doing any further treatments with the goal of undoing what you do not like about your Botox treatment. The effects of Botox are very temporary, and even though it takes months to disappear completely, you will start to see your muscles "wake up" gradually sooner than you think. Restylane is longer lasting. Consider that you might not like the results of your Restylane once your Botox wears off, and it sounds like you would not consider re-doing this Botox treatment anyway.
I am scheduled to have rhinoplasty done in about 5 weeks. I have lost fullness under my eyes, so I am also having restylane done as well. I wanted to do it before surgery but I need help. I have talked to my doctor but have not really given me a straight answer which is a little unsettling. When should I have restylane done?
It is important not to have Restylane done to the nose. There have been numerous complications reported in the literature from this and it is advisable to steer clear of having any injectable products placed in the nose. We have also seen complications of Restylane placed in the eyelid area, especially when it gets injected into the orbital fat. It can remain there for years and gives the patients a very puffy look.
