I had a necklift with platysmaplasty 4 mos ago. I think that maybe I had too much lipo just under chin, because when my head is tilted back, very small bands show and pull, and a larger band shows and creates a dent. What is the remedy for this? Is botox on these bands an option?
Botox is certainly an option to inject into the anterior platysmal bands to relax and soften them for 4-6 months. This prevents the bands from regrowing together if they were transected at the time of the surgery.
I want to use botox injection to treat the very shallow horizontal forehead lines and the very deep frown lines between my eyebrows. I've heard that forehead lines injection run a bigger risk of eyelid drooping. Should I just treat the deep frown lines between my eyebrows to avoid eyelid drooping?
Botox will work very well on your horizontal forehead lines. To avoid a droopy or heavy brow, communicate your goals to your provider - he/she should opt to treat the area with fewer units to allow more movement of the muscle, but should prevent any heaviness from occurring. Botox will also work well on your deeper frown lines. Depending on how deep your lines are, you might also benefit from some filler in the frown lines used in conjunction with Botox.
I had my crows feet done in December with terrible results. When I smile I get these horrible flaps of skin above my cheeks that I did not have before. Also, the fine lines that used to be directly under my eyes are pushed down toward my cheeks and more prominent. When I wake up in the morning the flaps are swollen and the appearance now softens during the day. My crows feet are still frozen but glabella and forehead came back at 4 months.
One of very common side effect for 1st time Botox users is that they discover while Botox smooths out the lines they wanted to go away, it might create a new line or fold - just due to the fact that the muscle under the skin is responding differently following Botox treatments. The good news for you is that the effects of Botox are very temporary, and even though it takes months to disappear completely, you will start to see your muscles "wake up" gradually sooner than you think. If you decide to treat your crows feet again, consider using less units and it might avoid these unintended consequences.
