I had previously IPL for hair removal and tolerated this well. I was then offered photorejuvenation but not offered a patch test. I had the procedure 2 days ago and it was immediately clear to me that I had been burnt although there was no blistering. Hoping to get referred to camouflage clinic via the local burns unit.I have read lots of threads and was wondering how people's burns healed and how long it took? My marks are black bars and coffee ground marks. Its been very distressing.
I understand this must be very alarming for you. While it is too soon to tell if there will be any permanent scarring, it is critical that you protect the affected area from the sun. Furthermore, I would seek treatment from a dermatologist who can monitor your case.
I've noticed that there are many treatments available for skin problems (chemical peels, IPL, Fraxel, fractional CO2 resurfacing, microdermabrasion) but i'm still unsure of what would be best for my skin. I have a typical mediterranean skin which means i have olive skin colour, oily, with acne, acne scars and large pores.I'm worried that i'll get a skin with not a definitive skin tone.
The ideal treatment is one customized for your skin type and skin condition. For this to occur, I recommend that you consult with an aesthetic surgeon or dermatologist to discuss your concerns and expectations. Key to control of acne break-outs is an optimal, medical-grade skin care regimen that includes daily use of SPF30 sun protection.
Depending on your preference and skin typing, a series of peels with or without microdermabrasion or perhaps an IPL or IsoLaz series may be beneficial for you.
Hi. I am in my mid 30s and looking to have some non surgical facial rejuvenation done. My main issues are (slightly) uneven skin, uneven skin tone (mostly brown spots but nothing that can't be covered with light makeup).... I am looking for something with only 3-5(max) day down time... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Your best option for overall non-surgical facial rejuvenation with minimal downtime is fractional laser resurfacing with the UlraPulse Encore for ActiveFX.
Your next best option is a series of IPL/ Photofacial treatments. A good, third option is a series of peels.
For both ActiveFX and IPL/ Photofacial treatments, your outcome can be improved and maintained by prepping your skin before treatment and being on an appropriate skin care regimen, to include daily use of SPF 30 antioxidant sunscreen.
For progressive results over time, you can use a product like EpiQuin Micro which combines 4% hydroquinone with retinol. This helps improve texture and lighten brown spots. Daily use of an SPF 30 antioxidant sunscreen is a must.
