A: Better safe than sorry.Have patients been able to get away without any help the night of surgery? Yes. Is it a good idea? ABSOLUTELY NOT. You have no doubt heard the saying :
You have to prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.
The worst case scenario is bleeding around the eyelids/eye with possible loss of vision. Is that scenario something you want to face alone? NO. Don't want to scare you, but this is an elective procedure and safety is paramount.
Botox Has Worsened Already Paralyzed Frontalis Eyebrow Muscle, Can Anything Be Done?
Previous paralysis of one eyebrow 8 mo.after coronal brow lift, when doctor injected Botox above inner eyebrow.Site bled, was sore with lump, needle mark for 3 mo.before laser. Now 1 year after surgery, brow only moves at outer edge,no movement where Botox was.Tried rubbing Botox area, makes red spot, but less sore. Was Botox in"sack"under needle mark? Eyebrows1"difference,looks horrible-like stroke victim.Wish I never had ANYTHING done! Advising 2yr.wait is horrid.VERY discouraged!Any hope-Advice?
A: No real treatment for truly paralyzed nerveIf a nerve branch is truly paralyzed, there is no intervention that can accelerate the potential nerve healing. Sometimes the nerve will heal and regenerate. Other times it will not. Its possible that is why your surgeon wants you to wait a couple of years.
A second opinion is definitely a good idea. Photos with and without raising eyebrow would also be helpful.
After 15 Years Fat Injections to my Tear Troughs Are Still Lumpy and Look over Corrected. I Have Been Told by 4 Top NYC plastic surgeons they cannot remove it or minimize it...With new technology, I am not sure why it can't be reduced with laser or some kind of injection... At 55 finally I am losing more of my own fat around the injections sites and the lumps are becoming more prominent. Three years ago I had a surgeon inject filler around the lumps to try to even out the area with some success but now the filler is gone and the area looks worse...Help!
A: Photos would be helpfulThe degree of lumpiness may also be a factor in deciding what to do. If it is a very small bump, then a steroid injection may be an option. If there is major contour issues, then direct excision and removal is more appropriate.
