Hello! My husband is planning to get a facial lipoma removed, and the lipoma is actually right next to his right eye. The doctor's have told him there is a risk of disturbing a facial nerve, which would cause his whole right side of the face to droop (?). My question is, should he seriously make the appointment with a plastic surgeon, or can a general surgeon do just as a good of a job? He's not concerned with scarring, but he is concerned about the facial nerve. Thank you in advance!
I agree that a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon would be the better choice. The scar will be better but the main reason is that the tissue handling will be more delicate and the plastic surgeon is much more familiar with the anatomy of the facial nerve banches than the general surgoen. By the way, many plastic surgeons are also Boarded in general surgery.
I have a lipoma on the right side of my neck which i started feeling since 4 years now. The lipoma seems to be growing very slowly. It is about 5cm large and 1cm deep. Shall i have it removed? which kind of doctor shall i go to for best results? Thanks in advance
The presence of a growing lipoma in the neck would suggest the need to have it removed. Either a plastic surgeon or an ENT surgeon would be your best bet. Get it done before it grows larger and makes the surgery riskier.
Atrophy of pec muscle as well as the long head of the tricep
If what you say is true, you have a rare condition and need to have the lipoma removed by a very experienced surgeon who does alot of peripheral nerve work such as a neurosurgeon, or some hand surgeons.
