How Do You Get the Sagging Neck Muscle to Go Back Where It Used to Be?

i am a thin girl, 46 years old, never had face work done, i have loose skin under neck, but even more so, i have saging muscle tissue???? what type of sergicle persedure is best???

A: Sagging neck muscles

Sagging muscles need to be addressed through a platysmaplasty whereby the 2 anterior platysmal cords are sewn together through a small submental incision.  This is done at the time of a neck lift or a face/neck lift.  If there is excess and loose skin in the neck, a face/neck lift must be performed to tighten excess skin.

Flabby Wrinkly Neck After Losing Weight, How Can I Fix It?

I am 47 and in the process of losing weight and notice that my neck/throat is flabby and I am developing longitudinal wrinkles. I've been fortunate never to have had much in the way of wrinkles before, but these are deep and I find it hard to accept them. Is my only option surgery and how much of an improvement can I hope for? I'm currently using Bio-oil and massage, no improvement so far:-(

A: Treatment for flabby wrinkly neck after weight loss

Flabby neck skin cannot be treated with just a neck lift alone.  A face/neck lift is the only option to fix flabby neck skin.  The 2 longitudinal wrinkles that are present in the neck are called flexion creases and are unable to be improved with any type of procedure.  Skin lotions and potions will not help inelasticity in the neck.

Am I a Good Candidate For a Neck Lift And Cheek Fat Removal? (photo)

Hi, I'm 28 years old and have always had the problem of a "fat face", it seems I'm one of the people where the fat goes to the face first and even though I'm physically fit, exercise a lot and within my recommended weight for my age and height I still have a lot of excess fat in the neck and cheeks and lack a defined jaw line. I'm considering a neck lift with fat removal in the cheeks also. Would I benefit from it? Thanks.

A: Neck lift and cheek fat removal

We do not recommend buccal fat pad removal in young adults due to the fact that fat atrophy occurs as part of the aging process.  We do not want to accelerate the aging process.  Fat in the neck is a whole different issue and can be easily removed through a neck lift.  The fat is removed from both the submental and subplatysmal space of the neck through a small incision in the submental area.  The result is greater definition to the neck area.
