I had thermage done when I was 23 and I went from being full faced to looking quite gaunt. As a result, I think it took a toll the structured support under my eyes. If I get an injectable filler, such as restylane, could this help my tired-looking under eyes? Or should I just get a really good under eye cream? I'm only 25. Thanks!
Yes, hyaluronic fillers such as restylane can be used to build up the lost tissue volume of the lower lids to help hide the under eye bags you describe. The process of losing facial fat starts fairly early and can be sped up with weight loss.
The idea is to improve the soft tissue fullness which then improves the shadowing that occurs in the area.
I had some injected into radix and nose bridge area and had blurry vision after.I thought it was like botox and would go away so didn't get too concerned about it but i got worried after readingit could cause blindness if the filler gets into the arteries or veins supplying the eyes. The next day i could not read with my left eye, words were very blurry. objects were hard to to see, the right eye was ok. I went to have some of the restylane removed because i was worried about it blocking the blood vessels to the eyes but it was 72 hrs later. I can see clearer now and can read with my left eye. Could it be that it did get into my blood vessels and caused the vision loss but not complete blindness?
It is very rare, but there have been descriptions of skin filler injections affecting blood flow to the eye and affecting vision. This can be from filler entering a blood vessel or from pressure on a vessel and hindering blood flow. I agree with the others who recommend visiting with an ophthalmologist as soon as possible to get your eyes examined
How long after Restalyne injections, in the area around the eyes, should one wait before wearing swim goggles?
I would suggest 2-3 days. However, you may still be swollen and your goggles may be a bit tight. You could also experience minor pain from the goggles.
