Can You Perform Blepharoplasty for Hollow Lower Eyelids?

Can you perform Blepharoplasty for hollow lower eyelids to pull the skin upward?

A: Treating hollow lower eyelids

Lower eyelid hollowness is best addressed by improving the overall volume in the area. This usually involves either a skin filler injection (such as restylane) or facial fat grafting. This usually produces a natural, non-operated appearance given that tissue isn't being removed.

How Long Will It Take for Swelling to Go and Eyelid to Close?

I had upper eyelid surgery 9 days ago. There is barely any bruising but there is a lot of swelling in the area between the eyelashes and the crease area. One eye, which also doesn't shut completely (there is a tiny area in the corner near the nose which remains slightly open)is a lot more swollen than the other eye, which shuts normally. The eye that shuts feels and appears nearly normal, the other eye looks and feels a lot more tight and swollen. Will this resolve or do I have a major problem?

A: Eyelid swelling and difficulty closing eyes

Swelling is typical after eyelid surgery but how long it lasts depends on the patient and what was done exactly. There can be some lagophthalmos (incomplete eye closure) after surgery, mainly due to the swelling, in some patients. This should resolve as the eyelid heals.

It's impossible for us to gauge what your eyelids will do without seeing you and knowing what surgery was done. You should ask your surgeon as that's who knows you best.

Am I a Good Candidate for Eyelid Surgery? (photo)

Hello, I am thinking about getting eyelid surgery. I am Hispanic and Russian. My problem is that I don't like how small my eyes look sometimes, and would like them to look bigger. Am I a good candidate for this surgery? Do you think it would make a difference at all? Thank you.

A: No. Your eyes are beautiful!

If these two photos are truly your eyes you should be modeling!  They are gorgeous and you should leave them alone.  They are exotic, unusual and great to look at.  You need to appreciate your beauty.  There is no surgery a plastic surgeon could do to make your eyes look any better.
