I'm 22 years old but have always had a sort of round chin, even in pictures from when I was a young child, and despite being otherwise very lean and tall. It produces the look of a slight double chin from the front, and gives me an odd, rounded jawline from the side. If I sort of pull back there toward my jaw and hold it with my fingers, I have a much nicer, straight profile so I don't think it's something wrong with my bone structure. What procedure might be an option for something like this?
Neck liposuction can improve the concerns you describe. Your age is favorable as your skin elasticity should allow for excellent skin redraping and tightening.
Other issues to consider is you chin projection which looks good in your photo. In people who also have a recessive chin a chin implant can also help with improve the overall neck contour.
I live in S. Louisiana and want to improve my chin area. I am 42 & of ideal wt. Is there any way to improve my profile other than a necklift/facelift? I've had a couple of consults & have been rec'd everything from Ultherapy to smartlipo (with chin implant) to a mini or full facelift. I'd really like to consider the lipo option but am worried about saggy skin. I have no problem with the mini facelift option other than the quote seems disproportionate to my needs. Advice? Thanks!
Fat isn't really your problem here but loose skin and muscle is. If you have gone to a physician who promises you improvement through liposuction such as smart lipo or any of those catchy phrases you should run away.
Your best result is going to come from tightening the skin and muscle, the real problem here. While there are a few mildly different approaches here they all end up with some type of incision around the earlobe and behind your ear. Some call it a neck lift, others call it a platysmal sling but the same approach and end goal is used by everyone doing this. Since your face doesn't appear to have aged as much as your neck this is a great way to get the youthfulness above the jaw in sync with what's going on below the jaw!.
I've had no neck/chin definition since I was a teenager. I am 31 now and just got married. I was horrified at my wedding pictures. I just lost 35 pounds and have 15 more to go, but like I said, I was not overweight as a teenager and always had this problem. If I am able to lose the last 15 pounds, will it look ok? What kind of lipo is right for this problem and what are general rates?
While this is not an ideal picture I can understand what it is you might want to change. Your profile is just as important to a surgeon since the amount of skin retraction after liposuction is the issue. You are young enough that the skin will retract with some compression after the fat is removed.
Recovery can take a week or more depending on the bruising. Costs vary but expect to have to pay more than $2,000 for this to be done right. Search for a Board Certified surgeon and don't cut corners. It is your neck that is on the line here after all.
