Would a Mini TT and Lipo Revise a Previous C-Section?

After several consultations with drs, have decided to get Liposuction, + I need a scar revision of my previous c-sect which looks like its becoming a keloid. I am 5'7, 150lbs. Question : Since I am doing a scar revision, can I include a mini tummy tuck and tighten my skin in the process as well? Is the recovery time the same for scar revision vs mini Tt? Some drs during my consult suggested only lipo while some said full tummy tuck. Not keen into full Tt cost or the length of the scar. Any advice pls?

A: Don't Cut Corners Because of Money Issues

While I don't see a photo of your tummy with this question I will try to imagine that you have some bulging below you belly button and a C-section scar below the belt line.  You can have a great result with just liposuction and a scar revision if your skin is thick and tight and will retract adequately after the lipo.  But if you have loose skin and stretch marks in this area you will probably be happier spending more money to get the mini done and get a flatter tighter result.  Don't scrimp on the costs only to find out you should have spent more money to get the right operation!

How is Mini Tummy Tuck Different from Full Tummy Tuck Regarding Anesthesia?

When are mini tummy tucks possible without the need of general anesthesia? http://www.pelosimedicalcenter.com/tummytuck_faq.htm

A: Mini versus full tummy tuck

We use the same anesthesia for both procedures.  Neither requires a general anesthetic.  A deep sedative type anesthesia plus or minus a spinal or epidural work very well.   Unless you just have skin laxity below your belly button, a full tummy tuck is almost always the better option.  I rarely perform "mini" anythings because, as the name implies, the results are also usually "mini".

Is the Belly Button Also Involved in a Regular Tummy Tuck, Like a Mini Tummy Tuck?

Is recovery quicker when you go through the belly button during a mini-tummy tuck? Is the belly button detachment purely for aesthetic reasons?

A: Is the Belly Button Also Involved in a Regular Tummy Tuck?

A lower or "mini" tummy tuck only tightens the skin below the belly button. If the skin is loose above the BB, then the BB must be detached, since it is tethering the skin to the underlying muscles, and no amount of pulling on  the skin below this will result in any tightening above the BB unless it is release. In a regular or full tummy tuck, you make an incision around the BB, leaving the round disk of BB skin attached in place on its stalk, and the skin, once freed from the BB, can be released up to the ribcage and pulled down, thus tightening the skin of the entire tummy.  If the BB was stretched out with pregnancies, for example, it can be made smaller, an "outy" can be made more of an "inny", and it too can be improved.
