Are There Reported Deaths of People Who've Gotten Botox for Cosmetic Purposes?

Some of the fine print in literature about Botox injections can be pretty scary. Hello, death? I'm wondering if anyone who has received Botox for cosmetic reasons has died, or has this only happened in people who've used larger, off-label doses of Botox?

A: Botox deaths

As the others have mentioned, botox for cosmetic use is very safe. I've never heard of a death from it's use in standard cosmetic doses. The news stories about serious consequences of botox injection have been due to the use of much higher doses than normal or the use of non-FDA approved forms of the drug.

Is 10 Units of Botox Per Side Too Much for Crows Feet?

I am in my early thirties and I do not get regular botox. I don't have any lines around my eyes at all unless I smile. The first time I got botox was 2 years ago and the doctor only gave me 5 units per side and it looked fine. When I went in 2 weeks ago, he gave me 10 units per side. Is that too much for someone my age? It's only been 2 years, and honestly I don't think I have aged that much.

A: Crows feet botox dosing

There is no one set appropriate botox dose for the crows foot area. 10 units per side is certainly a reasonable dose, though some patients need more and others need less. A lot of the variability is based off of the strength and activity of the eye muscles in the area.

Is It Safe To Get Botox/Fillers While Attempting Pregnancy With Donor Eggs?

I am planning to try to get pregnant using donor eggs soon and am wondering if it is safe to get botox and possibly fillers about a month in advance of that? I have had some botox before and was successful with it. I have not had any for 18 months now as I was trying to get pregnant myself. Is is safe to get treatment in advance of having donor egg treatment?

A: Be Safe - Just Wait

Injectable’s such as fillers and Botox/Dysport have not been tested on pregnant women.  I always advise patients to wait. This will ensure no complications from the injectable and product.
Good luck to you on your pregnancy!
