I had perlane injected in my nasal labial folds 3 years ago and it looked completely natural. I had just a slight loss of volume in my nasal labial region that I wanted filled. I tried juvederm ultra plus a few months ago for the same region and it seems to have changed the shape of the region. Instead of just filling in the loss of volume it is flat looking, different then the surrounding tissue.I need one more syringe can I try to alleviate the issue with using perlane? Why did this happen?
I have hollow eyes (from missing fat) which causes the dark eye circles and makes me look tired all the time. I'm seriously considering plastic surgery but want to make the safest, most effective decision. I've heard Juvederm and Restylane injections are best. but then some say fat transfer is another good option. Will there be surgical incisions to insert the fat vs. laser? I'm so confused.
Has anyone actually gotten these procedures done, and have recommendations on which has worked for them? What would doctors that recommend on which ways are the most safest and long-lasting? HELP!
We do not recommend injectable fillers placed in the orbital area. We have seen too many complications from these with long-term edema that just simply does not go away. The results from fat injections have been very inconsistent, and we do not recommend that either. There is really not much of an option for simply hollow eyes other than makeup for the dark circles.
I had open Rhinoplasty and Juvederm on the nasolabial folds and lips. I have thick skin and have had little bruising, and am recovering well 2 weeks post op. However, my top lip still covers too much of my teeth, making my smile look unnatural. I'm starting to wonder if too much Juvederm was injected in the nasolabial folds and lips, causing my smile to look strange. Is this most likely due to swelling still? I know swelling in the nose can last a year or longer, but how long does swelling the in rest of the face last?
The unnatural smile appearance is normal after a rhinoplasty in the first couple of weeks and will settle down over the next month or so. Nasolabial fold injections with Juvederm will also subside. The injections of Juvederm into the nasolabial folds did not cause the upper lip to look unnatural.
