What is the difference between Prevelle, Juvederm and Restylane. If they are all hyaluronic fillers what makes Prevelle different?
Prevelle lasts about 1/2 as long as Restylane or Juvederm and it cost about 1/2 as those longer lasting fillers cost. I really, really like Prevelle for lips because it is very soft and it doesn't hurt that much when injected. It is also a nice filler for patients who aren't sure if they will like a filler. If they don't like it, it won't last as long. That being said, I've only had one patient out of jillions who didn't like her filler.
What are the risks of side effects of Prevelle Silk and Prevelle? What should I know before getting the treatments?
The risk is very, very low. Prevelle is really smooth so lumpiness is rare. The risk of injecting a small artery and causing a loss of skin is really, really low. If the Prevellle is injected in the wrong area or too much is used it will be gone by three months. For almost immediate reversal of the Prevelle, the area can be injected with hyaluronidase which will dissolve it overnight.
The risk of any filler is very dependent upon the person injecting it. It is important to seek out a physician who is very familiar with the underlying anatomy, a surgeon for example!
