Body Jet Liposuction and Laser Lipo - Alternatives?

I'm 5'6, 150 lbs &22 yrs old. Despite being notorious among my friends as a health nut and gym rat, I'm not thin--my waist is 30". I lost over 60 lbs after growing up obese then had trouble maintaining that weight loss in during early undergrad years. My main concern is the entire abdomen area--it bulges especially when I sit I have to pull my pants over it. I want to have a slim defined mid section, thinking about abdomen, flanks & lateral back

A: No kind of liposuction works for loose skin

Unfortunately, with a 60 pound weight loss, there is a significant chance that you have loose skin whose elasticity is not great.  This can happen even in a young patient who has not had kids.  There is no kind of liposuction, regardless of all the junk on the radio and on line, that will fix this.  But if you look hard enough you will find someone who will do it on you unfortunately.  You should go to the best real plastic surgeons and be examined.  It might be that you should wait until after having kids and do a tummy tuck to get the best, flattest tummy that you can have.

I see so many patients with abdominal and neck laxity now who have been deceived into treating laxity with laser liposuction (Smart?, not...) and who have been destroyed by the result.  It is attractive to hear what you want to hear, but skin laxity, and skin excess cannot be treated by liposuction of any kind or technology.

Arm Lift with Lipo Now Vs Laser Lipo Now and Arm Lift Later?

I'm 25 and I've lost 80lbs with diet&exercise over a 3yr period.

My 16" arms haven't changed, just the firmness of the skin. My question is: Should I do a session or two of low abrasion laser lipo treatments and wear compression garments for a while;then do an armlift? OR Should I go to a plastic surgeon and do an arm lift and lipo now.

Scaring is not a concern. Smaller arms are. Some armlifts still look like large arms! Which would show better results? Also Miss. & LA Dr.'s for this treatment?

A: Staging liposuction and arm lift surgery

I have done arm lifts for patients with heavy arms and skin laxity - my advice is to

1. see a surgeon that does a lot of arm lift procedures

2. consider staging the liposuction first, allowing 3 months of recovery

3. do the arm lift

I've found that scar quality is much better when arm lift surgery is done after the arms are 'decompressed' with liposuction and allowed to heal for several months. This is my own experience, and I'm sure that opinions differ, but this is what has worked in my practice.

Recommended Weight Before Laser Lipo?

How big (fat) is "too" big (fat) to have Laser lipo?

A: Liposuction is not for weight loss

Before considering having liposuction, you should be within 15 pounds of your ideal body weight.  The purpose of liposuction is to contour areas which are resistant to diet and exercise.  The purpose is not to produce weight loss.
