I am a 48 year old woman in good health. I had one implant to address a fractured root (old root canal). The implant was 6 months after bone graft. The doctor provided care guidelines suggested 6 weeks on soft food. This seems out of line with other recommendations on the internet suggesting one to two weeks at most on a soft diet.
Common sense should guide you on your care after getting an Implant. It does take months for your Implant to integrate so there are some pre-cautions. If you have an immediate load Implant(there is a tooth visible already) then the guidelines are important. Don't use your Sonicare in the area so you don't vibrate too aggressively, and monitor your diet which includes not chewing on ice, etc. If the Implnat is buried, then you can be less cautious.
My problem is that I only have one central incisor and crowding. The other tooth never came down. I don't have any gaps or spaces either for another central incisor. I had braces when I was younger to fix some crowding. They suggested the only method to make me look normal and have two front teeth was to create a gap and bring down the tooth that never came down and then go from there. But being young I didn't want to do all that and now it really bothers me now. How can I get 2 central incisors now?
The previous orthodontic work appears incomplete. It would be best to see an orthodontist and a cosmetic dentist to create a plan to do as previously advised. Any "short term fixes" would need to be fixed after the ortho is complete, so you would need to decide if it is worth the added expense.
I had 2 root canals &then 2 crown on my front teeth. One crown came loose and i'm being told i will need an implant on front too I'm worried it will not match the other crown as it is now 7 years old.On top of that i had veneers put on on side teeth because the two crowns looked too large next to my natural teeth. Is it possible to replace my other crown when putting in the implant? and what about the venners, can they be replaced so i can have a uniform smile?Worried and depressed, please help
What you suggest is what works best, redoing crowns and veneers to be certain they match. Redoing work also ensures that the teeth are symmetrical and proportioned right. An experienced cosmetic dentist should have no problem doing this.
