Fourteen months ago I had a brow lift (endotine implants). I now have lagothalmos in both eyes, (left eye 2mm short). I have mild upper lid asym. The "lago" caused chronic dry eye and I need ongoing treatment. My surgeon recommends lowering brows some to recover eye lid coverage. The more affected eye has slightly lower brow, not a correlation. My Opthamologist says surgery could make it worse. He recommends plugs or gold implants for affected eye. I have cosmetic and health concerns. Help!
Dry eyes are very common, with or without plastic surgery. Lagophtalmos, a condition where the upper eyelid has difficulty closing, has several potential treatments. A implant in the upper eyelid (gold, platinum, etc) can allow gravity to push the eyelid down a bit. Tear duct plugs also keep the eyes moist. For some patients, Botox may possibly be used to help lower the eyebrow and upper eyelid. Lastly, reversing a brow lift with further plastic surgery may help. However, only after a comprehensive evaluation can a plastic surgeon or eyelid specialist help determine appropriate options for you. Best of luck.

hello doctors, i was planning to get upper blepharoplasty and brow lift stitch method.my eyelids are quite heavy at the age of 25 so wanted to get rid of them.my eyes seems to be unequal because of fatty eyelid.also wanted to add brow lift stitch method to my eye brows.i want my eyes to look bigger.Any help will be appreciated.
Fullness is a sign of youth. I would not recommend a blepharoplasty based on your photograph. Your brows are in good position, and I feel that a "stitch" brow lift is feminizing and not a good look. I f you want a slight amount of lateral brow elevation I would recommend Ultherapy - ultrasonic brow lifting. This is a non-invasive procedure which produces a mild natural result.
I had a coronal browlift done about a year ago. I know it is more invasive and the old timey way but can it be reversed? The reason why i chose this as opposed to endoscopic is because i wanted a bigger forehead. Only problem now is that my brows are too high.
Hi gatorgirl29,
No, a coronal browlift cannot be reversed easily, largely due to skin removal at the original operation. However, some of the effects may possibly be improved, although with difficulty. Revision surgery would require to advance skin from the back of the scalp forward. Tissue expanders may be required to loosen the skin and allow adequate scalp movement.
Only after a comprehensive evaluation can a plastic surgeon help determine appropriate options for you. Best of luck.
