I am 26 years old, 5'4" tall and 125 pounds. I was told that if I am planning for pregnancy (which I am not for at least another 5-6 years), I should wait because usually tummy tuck cannot be done again. I am wondering if that is true?
However, if i thougth it likely that my patient would get pregnant, i would not tighten the fascia. unless you have a reasonable amount of loose skin from losing a significant amount of wt, it may be that you can wait on having your TT until after you finish having your children.
Should I have a Mini Tummy Tuck or full Tummy Tuck? I lost 30 lbs 5 years ago and I've built very good stomach muscles, but this skin and fat has remained.
My surgeon said that I'm a good candidate for both surgeries. I'm afraid I will be disappointed by the mini, but I'm afraid the full tummy tuck will leave me with a scar that I will be embarrassed to show.
The DR told me that I didn't have a lot of skin above the navel and therefore he could not guarantee how low my scar would be. Advice?
In reviewing your photo, it appears that you have enough lax skin to warrant a full Tummy Tuck. Remember, the scar can be hidden by most clothes and with time, it fades very nicely (though this takes time). I think the scar is much better for your appearance than the loose skin. However, that is a choice that you must make for yourself.
Best of luck!
I am a 36 yr old, African-American female who had twins 15 yrs ago. During the delivery I had to have an emergency c-section and instead of a bikini cut, I was cut from underneath the navel to right above the pelvic area. Now my stomach resembles buttocks and even with weight loss, it won't go anywhere. I'm just wondering would having a Tummy Tuck change anything?
Frequently there is enough skin laxity so that all the skin from just above the pubic hair to the umblicus can be removed. Even if not all this skin could be removed, most of it could be removed, resulting in a huge improvement.
Best of luck!
