Will Insurance Cover Breast Reduction for D Cup Breasts?

I'm 5'9" with size 32D breasts. I am very athletic and small framed. I would love to get rid of back, neck, and shoulder pain as well as rashes, through a reduction to a small 32B. Am I a good candidate for the procedure?

What advice, if any, do you have for me? Thank you so much for any input!

A: Breast Reduction and Insurance coverage

Although insurance should give you the benefits you deserve, the results that you may need are best served with a plastic surgeon who performs the surgery commonly, than by a insurance network physicians. Many patients have tried to get their procedure covered but are met with fairly unintelligent blocking mechanisms like weight criteria and gram removal. Most of these delineations don't really help the individual who is trying to get covered and so you will be best inclined to chose a physician first and try to get approval. The process is cumbersome and may still be denied in the end.

The investment for your aesthetic result would be best served by doing this as a cosmetic procedure for yourself leaving the uncaring insurance companies out. Best of Luck

Breast Reduction Exercise

If I do chest exercises and build an underlying muscle will it lift and shrink my breasts, I am a 32D and I hate that they are so big and sag quite a bit for my age ( I am 20). SO I am looking for a way to fix those problems I want smaller breasts but I also would like them to sit higher up once I get there without surgery.

A: Surgery and exercise will both help, but not without each other

If you are content with your breast size and are looking for just repositioning them to a higher position on your chest then a breast lift is most helpful. It has minimal down time and works to only remove excess skin. Exercise alone will not be helpful as the weight of your breast has diminished the ligament support to your chest wall. Weight loss and exercise are helpful for tone, but not tightness. Good luck.
