I was diagnosed with Tuberous Breasts and am wondering the best procedures to correct this and average cost. I was told by one suregeon that I am symmetrical and he suggested scoring of the breast tissue to widen it, implants and a mastopexy. I was also given a price range of about $8,500. What are your thoughts on this? I also would need aereola reconstruction (they are huge!) which he only barely touched on. How does that work?
Tuberous breasts are best corrected by a combination of breast implant with a release of the breast tissue and nipple. This can be performed by utilizing an incision around the nipple.
im upset i chose 371cc over 397cc silicone mod+ would it have been a big change. im 5'2" pre op 34aaa post op ?? 118lbs.
Dear Isababe,
There are very small incremental differences between each successive implant size. This gives woman many options but once you choose an implant that is an appropriate fit for your breast dimensions, then you will have a nice result and should not second guess your decision. It is a very small difference between the 371cc and 397cc implant of less than 2 tablespoons. Enjoy the changes you were seeking and have now achieved.

I am confused as to what type of Dr. I go to for this. The Rippel Center (ultrasound after mammo) says that this lump is probably a fatty tumor but my gyno said I should get a specialist's opinion. A plastic surgeon or oncologist? Who does the surgery or biopsy on breasts with implants?
Dear Grace,
A breast lump or mass is best addressed by a breast surgeon who can evaluate the nature of the lump and recommend appropriate treatment, whether close follow up, biopsy or excision. I would also recommend that you inform your plastic surgeon and keep him or her in the loop. Should any surgery be indicated, your plastic surgeon can be part of the team that addresses the lump while recognizing your special circumstance with breast implants. My hope is that you have peace of mind and that you find this to be a fatty tumor.
Sincerely,
