Going to a Higher Elevation After Smart Lipo, Should I Be Concerned?

I live at 6,000 elevation and my smartlipo will be done at sea level, will I be able to go back to 6,000 elevation after my procedure.

A: Is it Risky to go to a higher Elevation after Smartlipo

Smartlipo is a great way to contour the body. i have been performing this procedure for years in Salt Lake City. I am not sure of our elevation. The only effects of elevation are decreased atmospheric pressure (and at extreme elevations, decreased oxygen). The changes in elevation you are talking about shouldn't be enough to cause any concerns. Good luck with your surgery. I hope all goes well.

Does the Cap of 5 Liters of Fluids Removed During Smartlipo Include All Fluids or Just Fat?

reagarding the max amount of fat that can be taken out at one time during a smartlipo procedure: Is the standard 5 liters of fat or 5 liters of fat including other fluids?

A: This is my limit for just the fat excluding the supernatant.

Five liters may be a random number, however it has proven to be safe for most cases of liposuction.    If a person conditions themselves for liposuction through proper nutrition and exercise, it would rarely be necessary to consider removing more fat than this.  Liposuction is not a substitute for weight loss.

Vaser/Smart Lipo or Tummy-tuck?

I'm 27, with 2 children, 5'3" 125lb. I have some loose skin on my lower abdomen, not noticeable when standing though when I bend over it's an issue - gets like old people wrinkly. I would LOVE to have this fixed though I'm not sure if I'm happy with the trade off of having a scar instead as with a tummy-tuck?? Would lipo alone be able to fix this enough to the point I'm not embarrassed to bend over at the beach?

A: Tummy Tuck Vs Lipo (laser or otherwise)

Correcting loose skin on the abdomen is always a challenge. Liposuction, even with the laser, is often not enough to tighten the skin. The skin is a lot like a balloon that when deflated can look wrinkled and loose. We are at the mercy of the elasitn fibers and healing process as to how much the skin will tighten up.

A mini-tummy tuck would be a great option to ensure the lower abdominal skin isn't loose after surgery but if you bend far enough, the skin may always look loose. Most cosmetic surgeons will perform liposuction of the abdomen with the mini tummy tuck when needed. Gook luck!!
