When Can I Resume Outdoor Activities After Laser Resurfacing?
I am an athlete and am accustomed to wearing at least 70 spf, sweat proof and water proof, sunscreen when riding my bike for 2- 3 hours. I have also purchased a belaclava (think burka) to cover my face (fabric is spf 25). I recently had laser resurfacing and am trying to determine when I can resume my bike riding. I live in Va, its December, cloudy and overcast frequently. Would a 1.5 hour long ride with these precautions be safe in the morning light?
A: Sun protection is critical after laser resurfacingSun protection is critical after laser resurfacing. I think you are taking reasonable steps to protect your skin with the sunscreen and belaclava. Exercise will also increase the flow of blood to your skin which could worsen swelling etc. As long as most of your inflammation has decreased after laser resurfacing then you should be OK for exercise.
In my Salt Lake City plastic surgery practice I perform many laser skin resurfacing procedures each week and typically counsel patients to resume exercise 7-10 days later if they feel up to it as long as they are protected from the sun.
Options For Lumps And Hardness 3 Weeks Post Laser Lipo To Abdomen? (photo)
I Had Laser Lipo on my Abdomen 3 Weeks Ago. I Have Significant Hardness and Lumps. I've Had Weekly Lymphatic Massages and I really can't tell a difference. My operating PS said deep massages would be best(I've had 2 and they are really painful).A local PS does Triactive on his patients and I am considering that.Which gets the better result - Triactive or ultrasound massages? I've read Triactive doesn't give a lasting result without maintenance, but I think this may be when using for cellulite? I also have fluid in my stomach that has been drained 2x. How do I keep fluid from building and/or drain on it's own?
A: Fibrosis is common after laser liposuctionFibrosis is common after laser liposuction and is best treated by external massage and or external ultrasound. It will take months for all of the firmness to resolve, but it should resolve.
behind ear lobe. Also neck is quite wrinkled and hard& still shows where the drainage tube was. Massaging has been done twice daily. Wrinkle in front of rt. earlobe which dr. may have to fix. My neck does not look good and have been wearing turtlenecks in hopes it will improve.Looks like a facelift for sure on rt. side. Will these go away and how long must I wear turtlenecks? Thank you!
A: Scars must mature and swelling must decrease after a facelift.Scars must mature and swelling must decrease after a facelift before you can see the full result. Having said that, things should be looking significantly improved by one month -- at least things should be looking symmetric.
Make sure you keep returning to your physician to be given directions on healing.
