I am contemplating a rhinoplasty in addition to my scheduled breast lift. My plastic surgeon said it would be safe to do both and would start with the breast lift under twilight sedation, then move on to the rhinoplasty switching to general anethesia. Is this common and low risk on a healthy adult?
The combination of breast procedures and nose proecedures is fairly common for women to do. There are multiple beneficial reasons to combine procedures and if you are healthy the anesthesia time should not be an issue. Make sure you have been properly evaluated by your surgeon who is board certified in plastic surgery and you will have the best chance of a successful outcome.

It's been more than 2 years since my rhinoplasty, and since the surgery i notice a nostril is bigger than the other especially when it comes to smiling. the doctor said it was there before the surgery though i never noticed. is it possible to fix a uneven nostril like the one in the picture? many thanks - J
You should look at your preop photos to see what the shape differences of the nostrils were before surgery. Most of the time there is not a significant difference in the before and after appearances. There are techniques to change nostril shape but you can easily get into a bad problem with scarring that is not correctable. Be very careful about trying to make something like this better.

I'm about to get an alar base reduction and I was wondering what the average healing time is? I'm concerned because I have about 8 days after I get surgery until I have to return to work and I'm worried that the scars will be noticeable. I read that stitches come out after 5 days. At what point will covering the scars with makeup will be permissible? Thank you.
The incisions used for alar base reduction heal quickly. If the sutures are removed at 5 days, then by day 8 you should be able to use make-up and return to work. Use caution when showering or toweling off. Review your concerns with your surgeon.
