Sclerotherapy Needles for Varicose Veins?

How long is the needle used for sclerotherapy treatments? Is the needle flexible? Is it a needle with flexible tubing?

A: I agree with Dr. Mitchell Schwartz. I use the same needle and technique which works well

A 1/2 inch, 30 gauge needle work extremely well for 90% of the sclerotherapy that I do.  Some of the very small veins are treated with an ultrafine 32 gauge need and a lesser concentrated sclerosant solution.

How is Sclerotherapy Done to Treat Veins on Breasts?

Is it true that hypertolic saline can treat spider veins on the breasts?

A: Sclerotherapy of breast veins is successful.

I prefer Polidocanol to treat veins on the breast.  This is done with a small needle to inject the sclerosant solution into the breast veins.  Treatments take only a few minutes and one or two treatments is usually enough for most patients.  The treatment has minimal discomfort with a low risk and a high success rate.

I Had Schlerotherapy on my Legs 2 Months Ago, I Now Look Worse and Have A Blood Clot. Normal?

I have a large hardened and painful vein with a clot. I can follow it with my finger all the way up to my inner thigh. I had an ultrasound that revealed a blood clot in my groin. The doctor drained the leg clot on my last visit, I never wish to repeat that horrible experience, it was very painful and didn't do me much good. I don't want to go back to that guy,he told me I will look great in 4 to 6 wks, it's been 8 wks and I still swell up nightly. Is it normal? will the clot go away on its own?

A: If you doctor has lots of experience he will know how to care for you.

If you doctor has lots of experience he will know how to care for you.  It is not uncommon to remove coagulated blood from a vein after sclerotherapy.   If  you are not improving after a month or so, get a second opinion.
