I had an appointment with a dental implant office located in Chicago. They will put in four implants and attach an appliance. I will return in 6 to 9 months with periodic check-ups and at the end of 6 or 9 mo., they will then put in final appliance. They would like the entire amount paid up front. I am uncomfortable with this procedure as I have been in the business world many years and I know of no business that requires up front payment. What is your opinion on this payment method?
Placing expensive implants involves alot of planning and expertise. The best implants are scientifically tested to be long-term solutions. Paying some money upfront is usually th enorm, because once the implant has been inserted, then the implants are now part of your jawbone.
They cannot be removed in case of non-payment. The next steps would involve staged payments as well.
I have an implant on the upper right first molar. Can a bridge be made by connecting the third molar to the implant because I have just lost the second molar.
It is not recommended in connecting an implant to a third molar. This molar usually has poor root anatomy and lenghth. The tooth may move and put unwanted stresses on the implant.
Adding a pontic crown onto the implant may again cause it to fail.
Best long-term solution is another individual implant.
Approximately how much does it cost per tooth for dental implants? I'm really not into the idea of dentures.
Implant dentists in the UK usually charge between £1000 - £1250 to place a single implant. The cost to restore an implant is between £850 - £1500. The total cost , therefore, is between £1850 - £2750.
