How Long Do Sensitive, Firm Bumps Last After Liposuction? (photo)

I had tumescent liposuction to my upper/lower abdomen, flanks,& back 7 weeks ago with a total of 4.5 liters of fat removed and I have a few areas I'm concerned about. They look like 2 large unsightly bumps and feel firm, but not hardened. Everything else feels fairly normal, aside from localized numbness. When I move about the area feels tight and uncomfortable, similar to sore muscles. My right side healed well, but my left side is asymmetrical in comparison. Will these lumps go away?

A: Unsatisfactory contour following liposuction

As with most post op concerns, it would serve you and your surgeon best to follow up with them.  You are really relatively early in your post op course.  When I notice post op irregularity post liposuction I recommend Endermology around 6 weeks post op.  Your surgeon may have a preference of modalities to help you through this issue.  Good luck

Can I Achieve an Inner Thigh Gap with Lipo? (photo)

Is it possible for me to achieve that beautiful SPACE or GAP between my thighs with liposuction? My thighs constantly rub, making running/walking/jogging difficult when i work out, and it wears out my pants. It also makes me extremely self conscious. Can this be achieved on me? Thanks in advance!

A: inner thigh liposuction

Nothing makes a person look taller and thinner than a gap between your thighs.  From your photos you should be a good candidate.  An examine by an experienced plastic surgeon could clarify whether this is realistic.

My Doctor Does Not Use Compression Garments After a Tummy Tuck is This Safe/ok?

My plastic surgeon does not place his patients in any type of compression garment after performing a tummy tuck on them. He says there is no scientific facts to support that these items help or aid in better results or healing. But believes they cause unneccessary pain and discomfort and actually increase swelling in the lower limbs and restrict blood flow. Is this safe or ok to do and will this have a negative effect on my results?

A: Support garments post op tummy tuck

As a habit I use a abdominal binder post op tummy tuck for patient comfort.    I recently attended a Plastic Surgery meeting in Chicago and was told by many  plastics surgeons there that they had abandoned use of garments post op for tummy tucks and liposuction.  When I mentionned this "trend" my office staff, who all have recovered from various procedures, they just laughed and said, "that is spoken by a surgeon who has never had surgery himself".  Your best bet is to follow your surgeon's advise.  Dance with the one who brung you.
