Will Hot Compresses Breakdown Fatty Tissue Under Eyelids? My Dr tells me I have excess fatty tissue under my eyelids. He said to use hot compresses to breakdown this fatty tissue. Everything I have read in my research says the only way to deal with this is surgery. He never mentioned surgery. I don't know what to do and could use some more information.

A: Fat in lower eyelids

Hot water on your lower eyelids might get you into more "hot water" than your inital complaint. Find a different board certified Plastic surgeon in your area for another opinion. Good luck

How Much Physical Discomfort is Felt Immediately After Eyelid Surgery? 　 My eyelids will be lifted out of my field of vision. Is that a pretty painful correction? Will the pain be similar to the pain of an irritated boil?

A: Pain control post op upper eyelid surgery Most upper eyelid surgery is described as uncomfortable but not painful. I often write for a few doses of narcotics which help folks sleep more easily post op. I have never irritated a boil but if you have and are here to tell, I bet you'll do just fine with your lid surgery. Good luck
