My PS said he was going to do lipo on 3 places ( my muffin, above BB & hip's ) with me TT and didn't. should I say something to my PS. Scared to say anything that might make PS mad What should I do >>>>>> Plezzzz help
Hi. I think the answer will be best addressed by your plastic surgeon. Ask him whether he has done the liposuction in all three areas that you had listed. I normally perform liposuction on the waist/flanks ("muffin top") and hips. However, I do not perform liposuction on the abdominal flap "above the BB" to preserve the blood supply. Please ask your plastic surgeon which areas were liposuctioned. I do not think that he will be "mad" just because you want to know what happened during the surgery. It is important to have a good communication with your plastic surgeon.
I'm a 24 year old African American woman whose BMI is 39.3. Though my BMI is high I live a fairly healthy lifestyle and I am losing weight slowly. All of my life my hips have been smaller than my waistline (no matter how much weight I lost). I was wondering if a procedure done on my waistline would make my hips appear wider, and if it would be safe at my current weight. I understand that these procedures are not quick weight loss substitutes, I prefer to lose weight the old fashioned way!
First of all Smart lipo is not recommended for people who are even slightly overweight as it can take multiple treatments to reach desired results making it a very costly alternative. Second, 'Liposculpture' is just a marketing term for liposuction. Thirdly, I find it best for patients to reduce their weight before any cosmetic surgical procedure as results are more likely to be esthetically pleasing. That being said, I believe liposuction can help achieve a smaller waist line, but it would be best to submit a picture to best advise in your particular case. Best wishes, Dr. H
I'm 5'7" and about 120 pounds, and have a body fat percentage that ranges from 18-19%. I eat very healthy and try to work out. It seems though that no matter what I do, I cannot get rid of these little saddlebags, and it drives me nuts. I was in a dressing room today and could really see it because I was wearing skinny jeans and had a perfect view of my behind. That's when it really hit me how much I hate my butt!! Given my body size, am I still a good candidate for lipo to get rid of this?
Hi, it appears that you have a VERY small amount of fat in that area. That being said, let me caution you on what could happen. Standard tumescent liposuction may result in over correction. Laser or Smart lipo may require multliple treatments. It is imperative that you consult with a Board Certified Plastic surgeon and you are clear of your expectations. Best wishes, Dr. H
