What is a Weekend Facelift?

I heard on tv about a week end lift that makes a facelift much easier and cheaper. what is this procedure?  does it make sense for someone with jowels that sag just a bit and when house hold budget is a concern?

A: A facelift done on a Saturday or Sunday

Usually facelifts that I given gimmicky names like "weekend facelift" or "lunchtime facelift" or "lifestyle facelift" were coined by non plastic surgeons offering minimally invasive procedures, often done on a walk-in basis and under local anesthetic. Their results are usually not very long-lasting and the ideal patient is a very limited group. One size does not fit all when it comes to facelifts, despite what is advertised. If I were a patient seeking facial rejuvenation, I would want to have someone who is going to take time with me, to discuss my needs, and individualize a treatment plan for me.

A: they will enhance the facelift

A  facelift will remove excess skin and elevate the muscles and cheek fat pads back to a more pleasing position. Having dermal fillers placed will enhance the soft tissue volume because as we age not only does our skin loses elasticity and stretch but we also lose facial fat, particularly in the cheeks.

Are All Midface Lifts Done Endoscopically These Days?

Is it now common for the procedure to be done endoscopically? Are there any advantages to having mid facelift done NOT endoscopically (can you see more, have more control, precision)? Is it enough the "standard of care" that I should look skeptically at a surgeon who doesn't do this procedure? I'm thinking of having it done to improve the sagging of my cheeks but not sure its the right procedure.

A: All midface lifts are not equal

In this day and age when patients and surgeons are looking for short scar incisions , endoscopic facelifts, brow lifts, breast lifts, and abdominoplasties are procedures that have been added to a plastic surgeons armamentarium. It's important to know what procedures your surgeon feels comfortable with and what procedures he recommends. Depending on the patient's needs, I perform midface lifts through the lower eyelid, from a standard facelift incision or through an intraoral incision some endoscopically and some open.
