i've had botox for years with no problem but recently was injected for the frown line and have been having malaise, a cloudy feeling and horrible headaches ever since (I was injected 8 days ago). The doctor is certified and experienced in midtown Manhattan. i just want to be reassured that these side effects will go away soon!! I felt back to myself on Monday and Tuesday but today it's back to more of the same headache and cloudiness. is it affecting my brain?
I had botox injected into my lower eyelids in an effort to remove some of my under eye wrinkles. About a week, after the injections, I woke up with huge eye bags. That was 4.5 months ago. Despite cold compresses, hard morning runs, applying vaseline at night, etc., the eye bags still are there. I am concerned that perhaps permanent damage was caused. Is that possible? Or will it just take more time? Thank you for any insight or advice as I have been feeling really down about this.
Typically Botox is injected to the sides of the eyes to correct Crow's feet. Under the eyes it is given to actually drop the lower lid a little to make the eyes appear larger. It doesn't do much for under eye wrinkles. If you had the Botox done 4.5 months ago, it has likely worn off, so I wouldn't think the remaining bags are a result of the Botox.
I had botox injections between my eye brows, forehead and just above my eyebrows about 4 months ago. After a few trials to correct the shape/arch of my brows, the final end result was fine and I was pleased. However after about 4 months when most of the Botox wore off, I noticed that my right eyelid drooped significantly and it's been that way for more than 2 weeks. Can this be related to botox as I can't think of any other reason for this occurrence. Please help and comment.
Botox rarely causes eyelid drooping or ptosis. When it does, it is apparent at the onset of Botox effect (within 1-2 weeks). If you noticed it after 4 months, it is unlikely it is related to the Botox. If you had any baseline photos taken prior to the injection, it may be helpful to take a look at those. Sometimes the Botox can mask "imperfections" that you did not notice before, and once the Botox wears off, they become more noticeable. If the eyelid drooping is truly new, you may wish to discuss it with the treating physician. Botox can be injected into the upper eyelid to decrease the drooping, or you may want to get an evaluation for excessive lid reduction surgery or blepharoplasty.
