Are Visual Field Test Results Transferable Between Different Doctor's Offices?

5 months ago I went to my opthamologist. I had visual field testing, photos--taped and untaped. I also have ptosis of one eye. I received BCBS ppo pre-approval for upper blepharoplasty. I decided to use an ocular plastic surgeon. My opthamologist gave me my tests w/photos. I will pay for lower blepharoplasty. One Ocular Plastic Surgeon office says they can not use the reports from the other doctor and I must redo testing. My insurance is BCBS ppo. Any insight would be appreciated.

A: Visual Field Testing

I cannot think of any valid reason that the previous testing can not be utilized.  If anything, your ptosis has gotten worse and certainly you would still be a candidate for the surgery.  I'm not sure what additional information would be obtained by repeating the testing.  The procedure is fairly straightforward and I don't think the details of the procedure would be altered by the new test results.  Good Luck.

My Eye is Smaller on the Bells Palsy Side and Very Uncomfortable, What To Do?

i try to pull it open all the time as it is uncomfortable.like pressure on it.the whole palsy side has pressure, nose, mouth, when i eat it closes and waters tremendously help me

A: facial problems following bells palsy

synkinesis describes multiple muscles of the face working together but in a disorganized/less funciont manner.  this can happen after bells palsy.  another thing that can happen is hyperkinsis where the muscles are too active, again in a less than functional manner.  selective injections of botox can at times be used to address these problems.  a visit with a plastic and reconstructive surgeon might provide some answers.

A: Bleph healing time

Upper bleph done under local while on low salt and low carb diet can look great at one week. Very important to maintain blood pressure control and avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, red wine and Thi black mushrooms.
