I have had 3 consultations in the past 3 weeks & I have finally made a decision. The 2 other doctors were only willing to perform one procedure at time, while Dr. Stapenhorst was willing to perform all in a hospital setting. Not sure if this a good thing or not??? I thought a mommy makeover consisted of multiple procedures & only 1 out of 3 was willing. Looking forward to my pre-op Aug 5 to... more
I have always been small framed maintaining a weight of 115-125 lbs and height of 5' ft. Prior to pregnancies I was active and managed to stay in shape. Through the years I heard of the effect's pregnancy had on women. But didn't think much of it because I saw how great my mom looked after 3 kids and 3 c-sections. With a total of four pregnancies and breastfeeding my two youngest for a full... more
My goals are to remove excess skin on stomach from 2 pregnancies and rapid weight gain (swelling). I have dropped all of my weight (currently 5'3", 115 lbs), and there is nothing that can remove the stretch marks and excess skin other than surgery. I am also doing a breast lift with silicone gel implants (currently a full B) to get a fuller, more feminine shape. more
Dr. Rodgers did a great job on my body. I've never thought I could have beautiful contours like I do now. However, those procedures don't make miracles and as soon as you are released to start your workouts go for them and never stop because your belly is flat and it won't be big any more but your butt, arms, legs and the rest of your body will and you will be unhappy again. My recovery was... more
Scheduled for a tummy tuck and breast aug...I need to hear from people who have had the surgery. I have had 4 sections and was awake for them so "going under" for the this length of time is starting to scare me so much. I keep thinking the worst possible things! but.... I'm also excited and happy that I've chosen to do this as well. I keep thinking about the future everyday when I get up... more
You can read Part 1 of my journey here. Updated on 2 Nov 2012: Yesterday, I was able to go straight from ultrasound to biopsy. To save time. Which is fantastic. However, biopsy results at Kaiser usually take 3-5 business days. Baaaaaaad! But first, for those of you who, like me before yesterday, have never had a biopsy, I thought I'd explain. Because I was TERRIFIED. It was... more
I am currently in the middle of consultations (or as I prefer to think of it, 'interviewing surgeons'). I've done three so far, but I'm scheduled for eight with one more to schedule. They run through October. I'm planning my surgery for January of 2013. About me: I am 37 years old, just under 5'8", about 127 pounds, and exercise 6 days/week. I've been training hard to try to get rid of... more
