I am a 31 mother of two boys both delivered via c-section. I definitely am going to get a breast augmentation (not sure of saline or silicone). As far as my stomach, is there any other procedures besides a full tummy tuck that may be able to provide better results than the current state that it is in… ie, smart lipo, liposuction? I don’t want the tummy tuck scar. Thank you in advance for your replies.
In women who have had a couple kids and are left with extra skin and rounder belly the best option remains tummy tuck. If there is not a lot of extra skin then a mini tummy tuck may be in order. Either way, the rectus muscles usually need to be tightened as well.
In San Antonio, I find that most women need a full tummy tuck.
Was my stomach muscle cut during the C-section and will that affect a positive outcome with the TT? My biggest concern is being happy with the end result, I had a bilateral brachioplasty with the same surgeon last April, and I was thrilled. I am currently 200 pounds, 5'10 but wearing a size 12 even with all the squishy skin,I seem to build muscle easily and have been working my abs I work out 12+ hours a week, and have been maintaining this weight for over 5 months, the scale doesn't budge!
It is very common to perform Tummy Tuck in patients who have lost a massive amount of weight and also have previous scarring from either a hysterectomy or a C section. In patients who have lost a massive amount of weight, the only way to get rid of the extra skin and tissue is with Tummy Tuck. Generally speaking, previous low transverse scars are not a contraindication to Tummy Tuck. In San Antonio, it is routine to perform Tummy Tuck on patients who have lost weight and have had a c section. We will also often perform a Belt Lipectomy or Body Lift to get all of the extra tissue out.
I had a tummy tuck about 6 months ago and all was well except I had dog ears.. My surgeon fixed them about two weeks ago and there is a difference however they are still there. I keep trying to tell myself that it is just swelling but I am starting to come to the conclusion that it just wasn't fixed correctly. Is it just swelling? and about how long does the swelling take to go down after a revision?
Two weeks after any type of revisionary surgery is too soon to make judgements. As you probably noticed with your initial tummy tuck, swelling and general healing takes time. Also looking at the picture you submitted, it does not appear that you do have any dog ears. You either have some swelling or some fatty tissue still present. Good luck!
