I had 1/2 restylane syringe injected into my nasolabial folds about 3 weeks ago. While these lines improved (though are slowly coming back) I have noticed that on one side I have a new line, almost like an offshoot from my nose. Almost like the skin can't fold like it usually does and is finding a new way. What causes this, and is there a way to fix it? It is on the side that was deeper initially.
Although the other doctors are right, it is unclear what caused you to have a secondary line it could be caused by too superficial an injection into the so-called dermis. This is too close to the skin in my opinion to put the product. I see this unfortunately very often after other physicians' injections. It also could be the fact that you have just another line in the cheek that was not sufficiently addressed known as the malar ligament that becomes more pronounced as we get older and in my opinion is a critical area to fill with Restylane, fat, or another product. hope that helps.

Thanks for your replies. Can you tell me if the syringes containing the Restylane and the Restylane-L are different size syringes (product quantity)? I was wondering about the quantity in each syringe, considering that the Lidocaine added to the Restylane-L would need a bigger syringe, OR do you get less Restylane in the lidocaine syringes? Just wondered because the price is the same for both.
The amount of "L" (lidocaine) that the manufacturer mixes the Restylane with is very small, so for all practical purposes the answer is yes.

How long does Restylan last for real? I had it once and it only lasted 2 months!
Restylane will last 6 to 10 months in most patients.
In areas that are subject to significant movement, such as the lips, Restylane will last around 6 months (and sometimes a little less).
In areas that are not subject to signicant movement, such as the nasolabial folds (the lines between the nose and the corners of the mouth), Restylane may last up to 10 months (and sometimes a little more).
