I am attaching two profile photos of me with my head in its normal position. I am an actor, and so having a tight chin/neck area is important to me. Right now, it is sagging and I want to deal with this, but I am not sure if this can be dealt with via lipo. If I am not a candidate for lipo, what other options do I have to deal with this?
From the photos, it does not look like you have a lot of fat to suction. I would recommend that you consider a skin lifting procedure. Look into Ulthera, I have been seeing good results in cases like yours. One of the main advantages would be no downtime and nobody would know that you had anything done, just a nice subtle lift. Post back to let us know how things go.
I am a 30 yr old woman who is an average weight. Even at my skinniest (size zero) I've always had a double chin but I notice it's bigger when I'm heavier. My doctor advised against liposuction, saying the problem was excess tissue, not fat. Thermage was recommended instead. I'm hesitant to try Thermage because many reviews say it was expensive and didn't work. Judging from the photo I've attached would I be a good candidate for chin liposuction or Thermage? Thanks!
I say lipo-why?
Liposuction has a longer track record, and performed properly can give you an excellent result, assuming that there is fat to be removed and you are a candidate.
Thermage on the other hand, has had very variable results, and in my opinion cannot compare to liposuction.
Best of luck,
Dr Siegel
