How Long Prior to Breast Reduction Surgery Would You Roccomend Your Patient to Be off a Weight Loss/appetite Suppressant Med Lik
Most weight loss/appetite supressants are based on Phentermine. You must be off Phentermine and similar supplements for at least one--and preferably two or more--weeks prior to any general anesthetic.
Why? Phentermine acts by causing release of catecholamines (adrenaline and noradrenaline), which "rev up" the heart in the same way that any major stress will do. Since a general anesthetic and surgery also represent a major stress, use of phentermine at the time of surgery may be dangerous. Phentermine may interfere with your ability to increase your heart rate in response to the stress of surgery, since you will have already depleted your catecholamines.
I had breast reduction surgery on November 9, 2011. Today is November 19, 2011. My surgery did not include a free nipple graft. I am concerned about the status of my nipple. It looks markedly different from my other nipple. Is my nipple dying?
Yes, it pretty much appears that way. Go back to your doc for wound care and stay away from smoke. The result will still be reasonable but you may keep the hypopigmented (pale/pink) coloration to the skin in the area where the nipple didnt' survive.
I had a breast reduction surgery 2 weeks ago and my breasts look really small from the front. I didnt want to go too small but im afraid i already did. I feel very flat but i am glad that the sagginess is gone. I didnt want small breasts just not saggy breast.
You hear about it a lot but it's typically under different circumstances. Sounds like you wanted a lift but insurance covered a reduction. There's a result that you may like even better than if you had a reduction in doing a breast augmentation. Best of luck!
