I am having a bilateral mastopexy in 5 days. I would like to go out tomorrow night with my husband (possibly to a casino) and there will be smoking. Should I not go because of the second hand smoke? I am not smoking but I am worried about being around it before my surgery. Thank you so much.
Cigarettes contain nicotine and emit carbon monoxide and a variety of other unhealthy chemicals. Although second-hand smoke is not as bad as doing the smoking yourself, it's still not good. You should avoid smoking of any kind for at least two weeks--and preferably four or more--prior to breast lift surgery.
Exposure to cigarettes increases your risk of wound healing problems, infection, poor scarring, poor circulation to the breast skin and nipple, breathing problems after surgery, and blood clots. If you're going to take the time and money to undergo a completely elective procedure, why not stack the odds of success in your favor?
I want to get a brazilian butt lift and a breast lift w/ augmentation. I want to perform both surgeries together but I know that will be painful. How long is the waiting period to perform both surgeries. Which surgery do I perform 1st? How long is the recovery period for each surgery. I have a flat booty and wish for a butt, not a nicki minaj butt but a nice butt for my body. No less than 800 cc,s due to the fact that I.m 5'9. My bra size is currently A bt want a C.
Combining the 3 operations is tricky. BBL, BA and Blift can be done at once. If you're trying to split up the recovery then you should consider BBL and BL followed by BA if there's a true lift required. If you're an A cup then maybe not much lift is needed, that being the case, you could reconsider all at once. If the 3 are not within your budget then you should choose the operation that most interests you.
I consulted a board certified plastic surgeon and apparently I can have surgery that goes around the nipple area only combined with small implants for my lift. I've read on this website and elsewhere, however, that this procedure is generally for small breasted women only (I'm a 36-C). Is my breast size okay for this surgery? And is this the least intrusive (besides the crescent) option? I rather would like to avoid the implants, but want the least amount of surgery possible. Thank you.
Without seeing your photo, it sounds like you are correct in having reservations about the plan. The periareolar lift is an excellent way of repositioning the nipple, not doing a true lift. You also mention that you want the least amount of surgery, assuming that means scars, then your plastic surgeon is recommending this technique in an effort to achieve the goals you are setting. The Benelli technique is a certain type of mastopexy, not all periareolar pexys are the Benelli method.
It sounds like all you need is a regular lift, but you may have prohibited the plastic surgeon from a vertical scar. This may be why he's suggesting implants, even though you would rather avoid them if possible. If that's the case, then he's cornered into this combination. It likely will still look much better, but you'll now have implants for the rest of your life and there is maintenance to them. You may feel like you didn't sign up for that. Think this one through, great question.
