I just did Xoom bleaching but accidentally ate brown rice with olive oil, butter, oatmeal, butter, and eggs and wanted to know if they might have stained my teeth. They don't look as white as I'd liked them to be and I think they were whiter when I left the dentist's office.
I really doubt that the foods that you mentioned would have stained your teeth following your Zoom procedure. We do ask patients to avoid things such as coffee, tea, red wines, and foods with artificial colorings for 48 hours following the procedure. This allows for the teeth to rehydrate. If your teeth are not as white as you would like you should bleach for a few nights with the bleaching trays that you should have been made at your Zoom appointment. Good luck.
Paid £695 for Zoom Treatment result is two shades lighter only. I am having crown done and am worried about the matching shade will be poor after I use tray treatment given with zoom procedure?
Zoom whitening is an extremely effective whitening procedure, but the results do vary from patient to patient. We consistently see 4-6 shades of improvement following the Zoom procedure. We do provide trays and ask the patient to bleach for another 4-5 days or until they are satisfied with the color. After the last day of bleaching we wait 3-4 days before finalizing any shade matching for porcelain crowns or veneers. This gives the teeth time to rehydrate after the whitening and the final color is then chosen.
Everything I have read says to get Zoom done before my permanent restoration. However, If I do that doesn't that mean I am signing up to do Zoom (or some other strong whitening) for life? Otherwise wouldn't I eventually end up with the super white crown but the rest of my teeth not matching due to naturally occurring stains?
If you have ever had aspirations of whitening your teeth, you should get the Zoom whitening treatment before getting your new crown. It will not be necessary to continually Zoom to keep them the same color as your crown. That being said, the color of your natural teeth will change over time, but the touch up bleaching trays that you will be given when you Zoom can be used to easily maintain the color. We recommend that patients purchase touch up bleach and use them for an hour or two shortly after having their teeth cleaned. This will help keep your teeth the same color as your crown.
