How Long Should I Wait Before my Next Refirme Treatment?

I had Refirme done for the first time 2 weeks ago. I feel the area around my mouth is still very pitted and lined. When should my second procedure be? How long before results?

A: Some Doctors Are Doing Refirme Monthly

But it varies.  Most Refirme and Thermage skin tightening treatments are done as a series of treatments to get you the best results.  Also, the results may take several weeks to develop.

What is Elos?

Our internal medicne doc down in Scottsdale, Arizona had some info on Elos Technology...ReFirme Tighten and firm skin...no surgery... One of his PAs is certified in the technology...actually it looks like something I would do. Have no idea of the cost, probably a lot. I see that there is a little "gun like thing" that is rubbed over the skin.

A: ELOS uses Radiorequency and Laser Light

The idea is that it will tighten your skin. You can read unbiased reviews about those therapies on this website. The costs is usually in the thousands, and most patients (i.e. over 50%) seem to feel it was not worth it.

Nonetheless, the treatment does not involve surgery and has little if any downtime. It may benefit a small number of individuals who are looking for subtle changes. It certainly will not deliver results anywhere near surgery.

Can ReFirme Tighten Loose Skin Caused by Weight Loss?

I have lost a lot of weight after Gastric Bypass surgery. The lower half of my face is saggy, especially under my chin. I don't want any invasive procedures and am considering having ReFirme treatments. I know it won't be as good as surgery, but can I expect some tightening of the skin?

A: Your results may be more difficult to achieve

My practice is focused on weight loss patients, and I am adopting Refirm in the near future. Patients who have had surgery to lose weight have skin that is markedly more difficult to treat, even with surgery.

The absolute amount of weight lost, number of weight gain and loss cycles you have had, and age all play a role here.

My hopes are that the system can offer a little bit of extra tightening for my patients after surgery on areas we may not have corrected fully. I think that patients with minimal wrinkles and good skin (i.e. the ones that need it least !) will also benefit.
