Post-Pregnancy Procedures
After pregnancy and nursing, many women have a hard time getting their body back to its pre-baby shape. That’s where a mommy makeover can help. This personalized combination of procedures targets many of the changes that can occur with childbirth. Depending on your concerns, a mommy makeover might include surgery on the breast, abdomen, or even the full body. Most patients opt for breast augmentation and/or a breast lift, to help restore volume and raise sagging breasts. Many women are also frustrated by extra skin or unwanted fat in the abdominal area, often with muscle separation. For them, I recommend a tummy tuck, with or without liposuction. At my Houston, Texas, practice, we also offer body sculpting procedures that reshape other areas of the body by removing excess fat and skin.
Skin Tightening
Massive weight loss, whether achieved through surgery or by diet and exercise, can leave behind a large amount of excess skin. This can cause infections, make it difficult to find clothes, and hurt self-confidence. At my practice in Houston, Texas, I developed a comprehensive body contouring procedure that corrects excess skin at the abdomen, waist, hips, and buttocks through one surgery. With a lower body lift, patients get a tummy tuck, buttock lift, front thigh lift, outer thigh lift, pubic reduction, liposuction, and new belly button. Upper-body procedures can be combined with a lower body lift. I also developed an upper body lift for patients with adjoining areas in need of tightening, whereby we use one incision to lift the breasts, tuck the excess bra roll skin, and remove hanging arm skin. Some patients combine this procedure with breast implants or liposuction for more sculpted results.
Breast Surgery
I offer a wide range of breast enhancement options, but breast lifts are my speciality. Whether due to age, weight loss, or pregnancy, many women experience sagging of the breasts at some point during their lives. In the past, those who wanted to correct this issue were forced to resort to traditional breast lift surgery, leaving them with unsightly anchor-shaped scars. At my Houston, Texas practice I perform all breast lifts with a short “lollipop” scar that leaves patients with a fuller, more natural-looking breast shape. For additional fullness, I can add breast implants for breast augmentation. The short-scar breast lift procedure can also be modified to include removal of a significant amount of breast tissue, minimizing the extensive scars that are usually needed for a breast reduction.

As a recipient of The Thomas R. Cronin Fellowship in Plastic Surgery, Dr. LoMonaco performed laboratory research aimed at developing skin substitutes for burn patients.
After graduation, he served as assistant professor of plastic surgery at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, as well as director of plastic surgery at the LBJ Hospital for two years.
Dr. LoMonaco is certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and Weight Loss Surgery Foundation of America (WLSFA).
