Choosing the right plastic surgeon for you is an important task. I walked into my Dr.'s office with a written set of questions. Simply put, I interviewed him. I had gone to two other surgeons before him. When I pulled out my list, they were taken aback and immediately their demeanor changed. Completely different reaction with Dr. L. He said he wished more patients were as prepared as me and took time to answer all my questions. I chose him as my surgeon and never regretted it. His staff is friendly, helpful and professional. I love the old Montrose house he uses as his office. He's smart and devoted to his patients.

Dr. did my procedure and I am thrilled with him and his staff. They helped me every step of the way and he has taken excellent care of me. He made sure I was comfortable and called me after I went home to make sure all was well. He always explained things in terms I could understand instead of medical terminology. He is defininetly a perfectionist and that is good to have when you put your life in someone's hands. You can tell he loves what he does and he does it well with enthusiasm. He also did not try to talk me into any other procedures...I would not have used him if he had try to sell me on more than I wanted or needed. It has been a year and a half and he still wants to see my progress. I have recommended him to my friends...they are all jealous of my nice flat tummy!

When I first considered my Lower Body Lift following extreme weightloss following a gastric sleeve operation I was given three names by my staff nutritionist. Out of the three, without a doubt, Dr. L provided me with the greatest sense of comfort and understanding concerning the procedure--especially after visiting his office and meeting his highly professional staff. The process was quick and efficient from first meeting to the surgery and I am now a full week from when the original surgery was performed. Since the surgery I have been treated with the same care and consideration they showed me when I first walked in the door. He and his staff made me feel comfortable and less nervous from the moment I walked through the door. They are all so very nice and friendly, and Dr. LoMonaco is funny and informative. He even encouraged me to continue my search for a doctor I was comfortable with, but I already knew he was the one! I had interviewed several surgeons and done lots of research before making my choice. I had a number of friends in the weight loss surgery community who had had surgery with Dr. LoMonaco and all recommended him. He takes plenty of time to answer questions and respond to concerns. I feel that when evaluating a plastic surgeon it is important to consider not only the quality of the surgery performed (which was excellent), but the quality of the follow-up care. Dr. LoMonaco is truly available to his patients, deeply knowledgeable, and works collaboratively to ensure that you achieve a result you are happy with. I had some problems with the hospital and with communication with one staff member, but Dr. LoMonaco took responsibility and remedied these situations right away. I had interviewed several surgeons before choosing Dr. LoMonaco and I definitely feel that I made the right choice in trusting him for this major surgery.

I interviewed 7 PS before I met with Dr. L, before meeting him I'd narrowed it down to 2. Ten minutes into the initial meeting with Dr. L I knew he was the one that was going to do my procedure no matter the cost. If I had to sell my brother's first born Dr. L was going to be my PS. Luckily I don't have to sell the kido. :) I'm sooooo excited that I'm turning naked cartwheels right now. I realized that Dr. L had done a TT on my friend several years ago and she recovered the first few days at my house. I ran across his name on this site and decided to go see him...glad I did.

Dr. L and his staff are amazing. Very polite and knowledgeable in all they do. You receive responses in a timely manner. For your initial visit, plan to be in the office no less than 3 hours. However, I did encounter some issues with the hospital. My per-registration took 2 1/2 hours to complete (a process that took only 15 min and I was the only person in the waiting room). Also I went with out personal hygiene care up until my discharge. I cleaned myself after I was discharged before I went home. As far as my results, I can't say that I am totally satisfied. But I am sure Dr. L will help me in the areas of dis-satisfactions. EAM

I had weigh loss surgery in the beginning of 03 and I always knew that once I got to a point that there was no more weight loss that I would want to have some reconstructive work done. Once I moved to Houston in 05 I began my search. I went to a few consultations with several plastic surgeons in the Houston area, and then I stumbled upon Dr. LoMonaco. I think the moment I walked into his office I knew that he was going to be the one I allowed to "fix" my issues. His office setting is emaculant and his staff from the front desk all the way through the process were amazing. My process was challenging to me, and I have to say I was frustrated when it took me 7 months to get my blood levels right. But with Dr. LoMonaco's help with getting me on the right track and his encouragement I was finally able to have my procedures in March 2012. His bed side manner as well as his staffs, and their attention to detail are through the roof! I have no regrets about my choice, and minus that initial walk after waking up(that was a tough walk!), would do it all over again. I would recommend Dr. LoMonaco and his group of professionals to any one that was looking for any reconstructive work from weightless or even if you just want a "new you" look. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I especially appreciated that office nurses also were in the operating room – so they knew what happened. This allowed for excellent follow up care. Dr. LoMonaco was my second opinion for a lower body lift with breast lift after roux-en-y surgery and a loss of 150 lbs. Dr. L spent a lot of time explaining the surgery, answering all of my questions, and customizing my procedure. I felt he looked at my needs and designed procedures customized to my body. He told me what I needed and what I didn’t need and I felt I could trust him. His pain management is excellent. I felt uncomfortable but my pain never exceeded a 3 on a scale of 1-10. I don’t know how he does it, but the pain management is amazing! Janet and Sally are very personable and treated me as they would treat a friend. I believe Dr. L’s experience, background, and honesty are outstanding, and I fully recommend him to all of my friends and family.

I really can't say enough about Dr. Lomonaco. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor. I had consulted with 2 other docs before Lomonaco and was really leaning toward one when I contacted his office one day and it was closed. It didn't matter though because within the hour he personally called me and spent 45min on the phone with me discussing many of my concerns and answering all of my questions. I was very impressed with his knowledge and experience. He is so down to earth and was very honest about what I should expect. After my significant weight loss, I consulted with a number of plastic surgeons, asking for a staged approach to tightening my skin. After meeting Dr LoMonaco and talking with some of his happy patients, I scheduled for him to perform my breast augmentation during the week of Thanksgiving. At my initial consultation Dr. LoMonaco showed me before and after photos of women with similar body types, and he discussed my options: lift vs. augmentation with a recommendation for augmentation. Other doctors only discussed the more invasive procedure. He also sent me home with a book of similar images to discuss the procedure with my spouse and other concerned family members. I had not used surgery to lose the weight, so the idea of plastic surgery was a bit of a sell. I am very happy that I took my spouse to the sizing appointment. When we met with Dr LoMonaco my husband and he discussed the implant material as well as what I wanted most - more proportioned breasts. Even before gaining the weight, they had not been similar in volume. Again, Dr LoMonaco listened to us and worked to achieve a more symmetrical size. The day of the surgery went very well. Every day after surgery until my follow up visit, Janet called and checked on me - even through the Thanksgiving holiday. The office is very busy, but Janet and the doctor both gave me their cell numbers for use when I had questions post-op. I am pleased with Dr LoMonaco and his staff as with my results. I visited multiple surgeons and dr Lomonaco talked to me about the LeJour technique that minimizes scars. He was very honest with me re: which procedures would be best for me and, frankly, which don't really yield the results he likes to see. He is a perfectionist. Bedside manner is the best I've seen in any doctor - and I have seen many in my lifetime. From the moment I met him, I felt like I had known him forever and could trust him. His staff is equally as enjoyable to work with and have always made my visits very pleasant (especially Janet and Damica!). Janet was great to follow up after my surgery regardless of what time of day it was. I have recommended Dr. L to many people so far and am planning to return to him for more procedures in the next year or so. And his fees are very reasonable compared to other doctors. I won't go to any other plastic surgeon unless it is a procedure Dr. L doesn't do, and then I'll only go to a surgeon he recommends. Great, great experience!
