I am 24years old, 115lbs, 5'7", I have had 3 children and recently gotten a breast aumentation. I have silicone implants above the muscle. I love the size and shape of them but I hate my nipples. They are oblong and just terrible looking. Therefore I would like to know if there is a procedure that can fix the appearance of my nipple with minimal scarring? I am especially concerned about nipple surgery with my implants above the muscle, should I be?
The only way to reduce the size of the areola is to excise the skin circumferentially, which ultimately leaves a scar. The scar can be barely noticeable in some patients, but there is no guarantee you would have the same result.
I have large (D cup) breasts that I think look great, but my nipples are larger than average. What is the procedure that can correct this condition?
I presented my technique this past year at our state society meeting and the paper was accepted at the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS) in San Francisco this August. Virtually all other procedures will lead to surgically closed ducts. I feel that is not healthy for your breast. My technique was based on our experience with amputated finger tips.
If you simply apply ointment and keep them moist they heal beautifully with a nice rounded tip (provided no bone is exposed). It turns out nipples do the exact same. They heal in about 5-7 days because the nipple naturally contracts a bit. I've blogged about this and show before and after pics also at my website. I often do this when I'm doing a breast aug or lift. But it can be done easily as an office procedure under local. It's not painful either and all the patients report normal sensation. No observable scars either.
