It is impossible to give recommendations without a formal physical assessment/exam of your belly. Having said that, I would likely recommend a full tummy tuck especially to correct the post-pregnancy changes. After multiple pregnancies, l'd likely recommend a full abdominplasty with liposuction of the waist. A tummy tuck (also called abdominoplasty) is a very popular cosmetic surgery procedure. A tummy tuck can be an effective tool for shaping and sculpting the body for better body appearance and improved self esteem.
Sometimes no amount of diet and exercise can create a flat tummy. Tummy tuck plastic surgery actually tightens abdominal muscles and removes excess fat and skin from the stomach area to create a tighter, slimmer, smoother belly. A tummy tuck can be combined with other procedures such as liposuction of your waists or flanks (i.e. love handles) to fine tune your result
Patients choose abdominoplasty cosmetic surgery for a number of reasons, including:
Excess abdominal skin following weight loss; Weight gain (beer belly or spare tire) from a sedentary lifestyle; Abdominal fat that is resistant to diet and exercise; Stretched stomach muscles from pregnancy; Desire for a thinner profile; Desire to look younger and fitter; Desire to fit into clothes better
I recommend you visit with an ASPS member plastic surgeon to further explore your options and to find out if you are a candidate for this procedure
my trouble is my pouch on my tummy and my love handles. secondary- are my jiggly arms. I work out every other day and follow a healthy diet. 5ft 5 tall, approx 138 lbs, age, 52.
A decision for a tummy tuck or mini tummy tuck depends a great deal on the amount of tissue laxity and the status of the underlying muscles. The term liposculpting indicates either the removal or addition of fatty tissue to get the desired result. Why would one want to add fat? Certain procedures (e.g. Brazilian butt lift) require the addition of volume to enhance the figure of a certain body part. But in reference to the question, it sounds more like the traditional liposuction vs a mini tummy tuck.
Liposuction: If there is very little skin laxity and some extra volume, then liposuction is a great option, especially if the underlying muscles are in good shape.
SlimLipo: You have a mild/moderate amount of skin laxity, want to avoid the larger scar that goes along with a mini or full tummy tuck, and the muscle conditions are in good shape. Consider SlimLipo as it does have some skin tightening affect that can further tone the skin and enhance the results compared to liposuction alone
Mini Tummy tuck +/- Lipo: If the bulk of your laxity is below the belly button and muscles are tight above the bely button, then consider the mini tummy tuck. You may want to add liposuction for the sides or to contour the upper abdomen.
Full abdominoplasty +/- Lipo: You will get the strongest sculpted look with the full abdominoplasty. You can further contour the abdomen with liposuction and enhance the results if you add SlimLipo.
I am 35 and have had 2 C-sections. I do have a acummulated fat in the lower part of the abdomen and on the flanks. I had a recent consultation with a Plastic Surgeon who mentioned that I may be happy with Lipo alone, but could benefit from lipo+ mini tummy tuck (he says only a smalll % of people can actually qualify for it). I don't want the added risks involved with another procedure, and not the cost if would not make a drastic difference. He did say my skin is not in bad condition ...I do have some extra skin, but nothing sagging. You can notice it if I bend, for example, or move etc....It seems to be a lot of hype about samrtlipo and the benefits of skin Tightening. Would that be enough to have a flat tummy? Also, I don't like the idea of general anesthesia. Can a mini tummy tuck be performed under local+sedation, maybe?
