I would like to have IPL treatment done for hair removal in my bikini area? Is it safe? I have seen many reviews on burning due to sensitivity, however, most referred to facial and neck areas. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance :)
Intense Pulsed Light treatments are great for hair removal. Make sure you have your treatment performed by an experienced technician in a doctor's office. The winter is a great time to have the procedure, when tanning usually is not an issue.
I take 40 mg of accutane twice a week to help with my persistent acne. I take vitamin E and was also taking fish oil on the days that I took my accutane. I haven't had dry skin, and hardly have had dry lips even in this winter weather! I've had numerous laser treatments done, even when I had used retin-A the night before, with no scarring or burning. I also had a chemical peel 2 days before I started the accutane with good results. I have dark coarse hair and need to continue laser. Can I do it?
Accutane makes the skin more prone to developing hypertophic scars. I would advise against having any unnecessary laser procedures or chemical peels done until after your accutane course. It is simply not worth the risk. I would wait a few months after your last dose of accutane.
I have blue eyes, brown hair, alabaster skin, burn easily, some freckles on face/areas exposed to sun but none on areas that aren't exposed) The hair (full legs, bikini line, underarms) is nearly black, I know I have "ideal" skin/hair for treatment, but I'm not looking to take any risk getting laser and ending up with some skin condition or burn. Shaving irritates my sensitive skin and my hair grows within hours. How safe is it in terms of side effects/burning/permanent issues?
Laser hair removal is very safe and predictable if performed by an experienced technician in a doctor's office. Avoid tanning during the duration of your treatments.
