I have looked at labiaplasty before and after pictures on this site and I am very impressed by the difference it can make. But how much would a labiaplasty cost? I would guess it takes a lot of skill to do a labiaplasty right because it is such a sensitive area so it is probably very expensive.
Labiaplasty can be done under local, but it is more often done with sedation or general anesthesia which raises the cost of the procedure. The surgeon's fees may be around $2-4K and the facility and anesthesia fee may add another $1.5 - 2K to the procedure costs. My office charges between $2-5K depending on whether it is done under local or general, and the average cost is usually under $4K. Remember to look for a board certified plastic surgeon when considering this procedure.
What can I expect from labiaplasty surgery? What changes are realistically achievable? What is recovery like?
Labiaplasty is a common procedure to reduce the size of the labia minora. Women often seek this procedure because they are uncomfortable with the appearance of the labia, the visibility through clothing or that it causes discomfort with sexual activity. By reducing the size, women feel that the appearance of their external genitalia is improved and that there is less discomfort with sexual activity.
