His otolaryngology-head and neck surgery training was completed at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas from 1986-1992. He continued his training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois from 1992-1993 where he concentrated on both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery techniques of the face and neck.
