I had ptosis surgery on my left upper eyelid 10 days ago. I have two concerns. I am having double-vision and blurriness in the eye. This does not seem to have improved over the past week. When I use both eyes, I see normal. With the left, I see double (ghost images). Is this going to be permanent? What causes this? I am not happy with results of the surgery. I dont see improvement, and possibly it looks worse now. Can any doctors please comment based on the pictures attached.
It is way to early to tell the final position of the eyelid after ptosis surgery. It can take months for all the swelling to subside and I rarely reassess for revision ptosis before 3 months. The vision changes are likely secondary to dryness of the conductive. Please state with artificial tears during the day and lacrilube at night and call your surgeon.
My tear troughs are starting to make me self-conscience. I have barely gotten enough courage to consider filler. I don't know if I could see myself having a blepharoplasty since its surgery (and I'm worried about not looking like myself). The fillers seem to be easy but everybody says to find an "experienced" person. I talked to one board certified plastic surgeon who performs fillers but won't do them in the tear trough area because the results are so inconsistant. What would you recommend?
Either surgery or filler (i.e. hyaluranic acid, especially Juvederm) work well to correct the tear troughs if performed correctly. Find someone experienced in these procedures in your area.
Hello, I am a 25-year old female looking for a solution to my tired-looking eyes. I used to get compliments on my eyes all the time, but no longer, and I believe my upper lids are to blame. I also notice that it is harder to apply eyeshadow these days, especially in the crease area (or lack-thereof). I have attached a photo for reference. Would a brow-lift or a blepharoplasty better suit the situation? I can provide additional photos if needed. Any input is much appreciated! Thank you
Based on your photo, you have a small amount of excess upper eyelid skin. Please consult a board certified plastic surgeon before scheduling any surgery for this issue. You may find that Botox (or a similar product) or a filler like Juvederm may be all you need.
